We went to Murphy's for happy hour. The oysters and draft beer were very good and a good value at the happy hour price. The nachos, even at a happy hour price, were not a good value. There was an abundance of chips and jalapenos, but the small amount of "cheese" was either Cheez Whiz or something similar. There was no meat nor chili. I may go back for the oysters, but not for the nachos.

Great service. Fun lunch with family on a busy Sunday afternoon. Only restaurant I could find that would take our 15 person reservation and I kept changing. It meant a lot as we weee all over the country gathered for the Army 10-miler. Thank you - and our server did a great job!

Our book club met at Murphy‘s this month. We had a group of 10 ladies and had a wonderful lunch and everything went well. Totally recommend it and the food was delicious.

Our group of 6 had a great experience at Murphy's! The food was better than expected and the service was attentive but not annoying. The live entertainment (both downstairs and upstairs) was fun and kept us there all night. Definitely coming back!

Expectations matter. This is an OUTSTANDING bar/restaurant. Great food, lively atmosphere, professional waitstaff, great live music. Patrons can be loud and rowdy, but it's a bar. Expectations matter. This is a non-pretentious atmosphere and is not masquerading as something it isn't. Overall, one of the best restaurants in Old Town and I'd gladly recommend Murphy's to anyone out-of-town visiting. Unbutton that top button, roll up your sleeves, get your singing voice ready and dig in. You'll love it.

It is always a great experience eating there. Champagne Sunday Brunch is a HIT!! Great food at good prices!! The hostess recognized us and had our requested table waiting for us. It's always good to sit next to Washington!

Horrible food and the service was just as bad. Stay away from this place. The server forgot one of our meals and when it came out it tasted like it came out of the microwave and not even cooked. One of our meals was the soup, and it was just as bad as the other food. Not even Irish and the place is dirty and gross.

We ate at Murphy's after reading some great reviews. We were NOT disappointed. The first thing we noticed were the specials outside along with the sign advertising a discount to 1st responders. My husband and I are both 1st responders so we knew we'd picked a good place. Once inside we saw all the patches and loved the atmosphere. We ate upstairs. I had the special of the soft shelled crab sandwich with fries and my husband had fish and chips. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Thank you all, well done.

Oysters CAN be great but we’ve now been burned twice hence the two star rating (if someone at the restaurant could tell me what the secret is to getting good oysters I’ll gladly change the review to 5 stars). We can’t figure out what the variable is but sometimes the oysters are delicious (fully shucked and clean) and sometimes the oysters are cut all jagged, not fully disconnected, and bits of shell are in the oyster itself. Not pleasant to have shell shards mixed in with the flesh! We’ve had bad luck on both Thursday and Friday. But a few weeks back went on Friday (after delaying for a few months because of the first awful experience) and they were so good we went again this week only to have the awful experience again. If we could guarantee the good experience we’d go every week but it makes no sense to go if you’re flipping a coin each time.

Someone that works here, please let me know what day/time to come to get the GOOD oysters and what day/time (or secret word to the waiter??) to avoid the oysters that are mangled and have shell bits floating around. Thank you!

Great local pub. Friendly staff and patrons. Sat at the bar and had plenty of company.

I’m not an Irish Bar guy, but it is hard not to have fun here. It’s more of a seated vibe (either at a table or the bar). Not a place where you can float around and mingle. So come with a crew that you want to hang with and be prepared for live loud Irish folk music … pretty much everyone sings along to every song.
