Went for lunch and of course anything Ralph has a part of is great. Very reasonable prices, lots to choose from and great service. Go and see for yourself!
We tried Mystic BBQ tonight!
Cute, clean, spacious restaurant. đ§Œ â€ïž
The crab cakes are slightly smaller than a well known place in MD, but very good! Still rather large and filling. đŠ
The fried green tomatoes topped with crab meat are excellent. đ We ate them too fast for a picture.đ
The brisket sammich was really good, pickled onions were excellent, sauces are great, bun was a bit stale but still tasty. đ„Ș
The fries are well seasoned and the Mac n cheese is creamy and delicious (maybe a white cheddar) with breadcrumbs on top. đ§
Service was great, you can pay at the table. Will return and try more items!

What a wonderful and surprising experience. A couple friends and I just happened to stop for lunch and we had a great time. The food was out of this world and the service was top notch. My wife and I have reservations for dinner Saturday night and we are really looking forward to it. Great find in Old Town.

The brisket was really nice, although a bit cold by the time it got to my table. The sides were also quite nice.

Came here after a bike ride. Great service from martha. Great food. A little more portion wouldâve been nice for the money, but great place.

There is much better BBQ worth venturing out of old town for. There were many issues but the standouts were the overcooked shrimp in shrimp and grits and pre-grated unmelted cheese for the nachos. Overall a very disappointing experience both food and service wise.

Mystic BBQ and Grill gave friendly and professional service enjoyed along a quiet Old Town Alexandria street. Delicious brisket. Loved the slightly spicy collards and tasty white beans.

Ate here last night with my wife. The BBQ was phenomenal! Good portions at a great price. The sides were also on point. A nice hidden gem BBQ spot in Old Town.

The food was very good. The brisket was not dry and the pulled pork was very tasty. The catfish ĂtouffĂ©e was very good, the catfish was not soggy with batter. The cheeseburger was ok and juicy. The service was just ok. I needed to ask for the same items a couple of times. All in all I thought it was very good. I will go back.
Parking: The parking garage is about a block away. It is a $10 flat fee.

A pretty solid barbecue place for Northern Virginia! It isnât really set up like your typical barbecue joint, but itâs not trying to be high-end either. I know a few people who left negative reviews said the portions were smaller than they wouldâve liked, and that the atmosphere wasnât as nice as their other restaurant in Del Ray, but I think thatâs kind of the point. Itâs supposed to be more casual, and I actually appreciated that the portions werenât huge. So many times when I go to barbecue places, I end up with a ton of leftovers that donât taste as good the next day. I went on an empty stomach and had the Cajun chicken barbecue platter (which included a half pound of meat with two sides), and I felt perfectly full by the end of the meal. I also got the gator bite cocktail and the sweet tea, both of which were excellent (the tea was clearly freshly brewed).
Our server seemed like she was still learning the ropes a little bit, but she was so sweet and constantly checking on us and asking if we needed anything. The restaurant is also pretty dog friendly (not a huge surprise considering that itâs in Old Town); they had several outside tables and they even brought out a bowl of water for our dog when they brought us our water.
Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch here! Itâs a solid casual spot with good barbecue, I canât wait to come back and try some of their other options.
Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu and the vibe of the place seems like itâs pretty kid friendly!

Lean, tender brisket topped with pickled onions, horseradish and BBQ sauces. The Texas Brisket Sandwich ($18) was just what I wanted, with a side of Mac and Cheese. Convenient location just a block from King Street and the Torpedo Factory.
