We cannot say enough good things about Old Blue BBQ. They catered our wedding reception in early November, and choosing them was one of the best decisions we made.

We actually booked Old Blue BBQ before ever tasting the food, which felt like a leap of faith at the time. After booking, we traveled to their location for a tasting and were completely blown away. Not only was the food incredible, but the way we were treated sealed the deal. They welcomed us and cared for us as if we had not already signed a contract. From that moment, and with that first bite, we knew we had made the right choice.

What they delivered on our wedding day exceeded every expectation. The food was beyond impressive and beautifully presented. Guests are still talking about it and repeatedly asking if Old Blue BBQ has a restaurant because they want to eat it again. Every single dish was a hit.

The service was absolutely top-notch. The team moved together seamlessly, calm, confident, and completely in sync. A special shout-out to our catering coordinator, Triana, who was responsive, organized, and an absolute God-sent throughout the entire planning process and on the wedding day.

We also loved their décor offerings. Being able to use their décor saved us money and elevated the entire look of our reception space, making it feel exactly how we envisioned.

If you are even considering Old Blue BBQ for your wedding or event, stop looking and book them. Incredible food, flawless execution, and total peace of mind.

Thanksgiving turkey was advertised as a 12-lb average. Unfortunately, the turkey with all the packaging-(container and bag) weighed around 9.5 lbs. This is incredibly smaller than advertised and too small for the price.

Yo this food is horrible, unseasoned and extremely dry. This lazy food, so many better barbecue spots.

We loved working with Old Blue BBQ from start to finish. Their staff is incredible, helpful, and kind throughout the entire process. Our guests also LOVED the food. If you live in the DMV area and want to serve BBQ at your wedding, look no further. Old Blue cares about their couples, is affordable, and has wonderful staff.

We used Old Blue BBQ for our High School reunion two times. The prices are very well placed for the quality of the food, which was delicious! They arrived early to set up, policed our outdoor venue keeping it clean and the employees were extremely polite, friendly and easy to work with. Seven stars from our group because five won’t do it!

Old Blue BBQ helped make our wedding day so special. The food was absolutely delicious, and our guests are still raving about it! Beyond the amazing menu, what truly stood out was the outstanding customer service we received throughout the entire process.

From start to finish, the team was responsive, flexible, and attentive to every detail. Carol was great, she patiently answered all my questions, accomodated my requests, and helped us choose the best menu options for our guests.

Fantastic food and service. The quality was just as great at our wedding as it was when we first tried the food. They were organized and so helpful.

It was ok. All were dry, brisket, pork and chicken. Not too salty. I had worse and way worse BBQs in Arlington VA so in comparison this is a 3 star, like a 3 star hotel. For what it offers very overpriced though. Get a 5 five star experience with the same money at 2fifty on K st.

This just made my top three favorite barbecue places, few hidden gems you must try. Best discovery ever , I heard about this place from an older gentleman told me this is one of the greatest barbecue places if I ever got hungry and since I was stuck at the restaurant depot, all day went over Staff was friendly,Food smell delicious clean and tidy.
Oh boy, the older guy didn’t exaggerate brisket delicious. I asked for the sauce they recommend it was beautiful. Same with the barbecue ribs tender moist delicious 1 million out of 100 same goes to their chicken.

Old Blue BBQ catered our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made for the whole event. The food was exquisite, the guests loved it, and our catering team did a fantastic job with the setup. Carol, Anna, and the whole Old BBQ team not only catered amazing food for our event, but went above and beyond with helping outline all the logistics and provide decorations. (Old Blue had a supply of wedding decorations and supplies, like tea lights and table card holders, that were included with the catering package.) The team anticipated all of our setup and wedding day needs that even we didn't think of initially. The guests all raved about the food and how awesome the catering staffers were. We fully intend to patronize their takeout service in Alexandria in the future too. Huge thank you to Carol, Anna, and the whole Old Blue BBQ team!!!

**********SCAMMED MY CARD WITH 30% TIPS**********
I visited the Union Market location on 22 Dec, it took forever to order with 2/3 slow workers. When it was my turn I ordered the 2+2 BBQ Platter with the brisket and ribs and as you can see how little the portion were. Not to mention it was underwhelming and I am not even from the US but I have had much better BBQ in other countries.

The biggest issue is they have scammed me with unauthorized 30% tips, making my transaction $25.5 when the lady at the counter has confirmed the price is $22 instead. When I was in line, I have seen her using her phone as a tap machine and it is all in Spanish so no one knew what she had done. I specifically confirmed the price before I tapped and yet I checked my bank account the next day and found out they have charged me 30% more. I have left DC so I could not go back, I find it deceiving and frustrating even $3.5 doesn't sound like a lot. If she would have asked for a tip with different options in English, I would have had no problem tipping. If you unfortunately have visited them, CHECK YOUR CARD especially as a tourist.

Update: I called and the owner refunded the unauthorized tips so I do appreciate it. He mentioned it was not intentional which I doubt, the lady asked the person in front for tips (despite the instructions on the phone were all in Spanish) so why did she suddenly forget to ask me, confirmed the total amount with me and then charge the tips later on?
