Old Blue BBQ helped make our wedding day so special. The food was absolutely delicious, and our guests are still raving about it! Beyond the amazing menu, what truly stood out was the outstanding customer service we received throughout the entire process.

Fantastic food and service. The quality was just as great at our wedding as it was when we first tried the food. They were organized and so helpful.

It was ok. All were dry, brisket, pork and chicken. Not too salty. I had worse and way worse BBQs in Arlington VA so in comparison this is a 3 star, like a 3 star hotel. For what it offers very overpriced though. Get a 5 five star experience with the same money at 2fifty on K st.

This just made my top three favorite barbecue places, few hidden gems you must try. Best discovery ever , I heard about this place from an older gentleman told me this is one of the greatest barbecue places if I ever got hungry and since I was stuck at the restaurant depot, all day went over Staff was friendly,Food smell delicious clean and tidy.
Oh boy, the older guy didn’t exaggerate brisket delicious. I asked for the sauce they recommend it was beautiful. Same with the barbecue ribs tender moist delicious 1 million out of 100 same goes to their chicken.
If you’re passing by or like me, got stuck somewhere for hours you won’t be disappointed

Old Blue BBQ catered our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made for the whole event. The food was exquisite, the guests loved it, and our catering team did a fantastic job with the setup. Carol, Anna, and the whole Old BBQ team not only catered amazing food for our event, but went above and beyond with helping outline all the logistics and provide decorations. (Old Blue had a supply of wedding decorations and supplies, like tea lights and table card holders, that were included with the catering package.) The team anticipated all of our setup and wedding day needs that even we didn't think of initially. The guests all raved about the food and how awesome the catering staffers were. We fully intend to patronize their takeout service in Alexandria in the future too. Huge thank you to Carol, Anna, and the whole Old Blue BBQ team!!!

**********SCAMMED MY CARD WITH 30% TIPS**********
I visited the Union Market location on 22 Dec, it took forever to order with 2/3 slow workers. When it was my turn I ordered the 2+2 BBQ Platter with the brisket and ribs and as you can see how little the portion were. Not to mention it was underwhelming and I am not even from the US but I have had much better BBQ in other countries.

The biggest issue is they have scammed me with unauthorized 30% tips, making my transaction $25.5 when the lady at the counter has confirmed the price is $22 instead. When I was in line, I have seen her using her phone as a tap machine and it is all in Spanish so no one knew what she had done. I specifically confirmed the price before I tapped and yet I checked my bank account the next day and found out they have charged me 30% more. I have left DC so I could not go back, I find it deceiving and frustrating even $3.5 doesn't sound like a lot. If she would have asked for a tip with different options in English, I would have had no problem tipping. If you unfortunately have visited them, CHECK YOUR CARD especially as a tourist.

Update: I called and the owner refunded the unauthorized tips so I do appreciate it. He mentioned it was not intentional which I doubt, the lady asked the person in front for tips (despite the instructions on the phone were all in Spanish) so why did she suddenly forget to ask me, confirmed the total amount with me and then charge the tips later on?

I’ve held a yearly event and these folks have consistently been above and beyond with the service and the food. Highly recommended

We absolutely love working with Old Blue and Kari in Alexandria. We first met this team when our son and his wife hired them for our wedding. We have recently formed a working relationship with Kari and her staff at our event space Hilltop Farm in Centreville. Old Blue is not your traditional run of the mill BBQ place. This catering service is a game changer for anyone who loves BBQ but wants a touch of sophistication. Every attention to detail is met and as a venue owner, we can rest assured that our space is taken care of and our guests don't leave hungry. Highly recommend. We will be using Kari and her staff for years to come.

Old Blue BBQ is who my husband and I went with to cater our wedding, and it was one of our best decisions we made. Not only was the food amazing, they have a bridal design share with thousands of items to help you curate the style you want for your perfect wedding. From linens, to candles, to baskets and hurricanes. This is especially awesome for couples that are DIY-ing a lot of their wedding designs! Kari and Anna were amazing. they were responsive, friendly, and listened to our vision. The outcome: FLAWLESS. Everyone raved about the food and how beautiful our set up was. There team was also so welcoming and warm on the day of the wedding where nerves are high, and you just don’t want to worry anymore. Also Stephen is a phenomenal chef, they had a lot to choose from on their menu, and we curated it perfectly so that everyone was satisfied (vegans and folks that don’t eat pork!). The attention to details was outstanding- if I could do it all over again I’d hire them in a heartbeat. PS- we wanted left overs, but all they had left was some of the chicken because the food was so good our guests kept going back for more. Thank you Old Blue for making our wedding dreams a reality :)

Old Blue BBQ and Kari McNulty were fabulous for my daughters wedding! Don’t let the name fool you, this is not typical BBQ. The food was upscale, fresh and absolutely delicious! The mason jar desserts were the talk of the wedding! The service was friendly and prompt. Our guests felt very pampered by the table service during the reception. Thank you!
