Service was pretty bad. They served food to others when they told us the kitchen was closed. Had to ask for the check twice - and it took three people to get it. Strange and unfortunate. Plenty of other options nearby.

Incredible cocktail bar with an inventive menu, excellent mixologist behind the bar, and a fun and energetic atmosphere. Loved the funky and colorful decor. Really made this visit to Alexandria memorable. Highly recommended and can't wait to return.

Loved Old Hat in Alexandria! An intimate spot and a great date-night choice, with excellent cocktails, stylish décor, and a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere. So many great options to choose from for dinner from shareable small plates to well portioned entrees.

Been here for drinks a couple of times. The bartender on the lower level can be very pretentious and off putting at times. Made me and my date feel a little uncomfortable. Espresso martini was good but not great. Whiskey selection is decent but definitely overpriced. If you are getting a table just for food though, it ain’t bad for that. I like how they are different levels and small bars on each level.

Such a great experience! Bar tender and his wife were so welcoming and were accommodating to our drink orders. Really good cocktails! Chicken dumplings were delicious, like really really good. Their dog Arthur is an added benefit. Highly recommend!
The menu was creative, the prices were respectable, and the variety unique. Great service too! Highly impressed by the man farmer's carrying 2x five gallon buckets of ice up the stairs.

This is what I think of when I hear the words “cocktail bar.” The atmosphere was unmatched. Jack was a convivial bartender and made my partner and I feel very welcome coming in for a night capper (or two) on our anniversary. Will definitely be back.

This is my favorite bar in Old Town. The drinks are unique, the menu is fantastic, and the staff are like old friends. I can't say enough good things about this spot!

Elevated cocktail bar but my drink came with no ice, no garnish, in a basic rocks glass....it was good but presentation matters!
Fantastic service. Friendly management. Food has a fusion asian flare that works well (like the kimchi hotdog). Would definitely come again.

My wife and I visited this past Saturday night around 9:45, and sat at the downstairs bar and ordered 2 martinis: straight up with a twist, and to “wave the vermouth”.
The bartender simply doesn’t know or understand how to properly make a martini; she let the vodka sit too long in ice in the shaker before she over-stirred it, and it was watered down.
She poured the two martinis into glasses that were half-filled….leaving us bewildered.
We also met Jack, the other “mixologist”, who was engaging and charming.
We considered mentioning this to him, and that perhaps he could assist her in how to properly make a martini, but we didn’t want to make a scene.
She has no idea how to make a simple martini.
