Nice little brewery. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Had some very good beers. If I'm ever in the area again I will surely stop again.

We love it here, they typically have a food truck, they allow dogs, and they are great people and brewers.

Great brewery vibes and great beer. They often have food trucks (check online). Dogs and kids welcome.

What a beer lovers place to go. Lots of parking across the street. I've seen their beers in many beer and wine stores and Optimal Wit is probably the most recognizable. For folks that like pilsners like me, there are so many to choose from and really enjoyed their downright Pilsner and their American pale ale, essential pale ale. Nice to see breweries still make these that are not all IPA's. Their outdoor seating is huge with smaller indoor and bar seating and in the back where the beer tanks are even more seating and also where you can reserve tables for bigger parties. They don't serve food but have food trucks where you can order food. Lots of TV's to watch sports. For the kids they have two arcades (like Donkey Kong, Pac man, Galaga) that are free to use.

Good beer, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Allows dogs inside and at the outdoor seating. Recommend the Optimal Wit; their IPAs are good too. Often collaborates with local vendors or organizations for events.

How cool to have a brewery so close to where I was training! This brewery reminded me of New Realm in Atlanta, mainly due to location. Port City is right near a park area and not in a highly busy area. I opted to take a Bird Scooter to get here, and was able to get on Eisenhower Ave and use a connecting park trail to make it over to Wheeler. They have a nice setup outside and inside. Benches and high tops outside, with Edison lighting. Inside a taproom upstairs and smaller area to hangout near the bar. I believe they have some arcade games too. Very family friendly.I liked the selection of beers (disappointed that they were out of their Pumpkin Ale and Hefeweizen. I tried the Helles, Oktoberfest, German Pilsner, Rauchbier, Colossal Two, Optimal Wit, Beach Night, Porter, Pizza Night and Hazy IPA. This was over the course of two visits. I also had a Boars Head Sammie and chips (both decent, so you can eat here).Their Optimal Wit seems to be the flagship. It's certainly the best on tap and would compete with other Wits. My second favorite was the Helles. Loved this blonde lager. Pizza Night was my third and was a very easy drinking beer. Those are pretty much the ones I'd recommend. The Colossal Two & Rauchbier were also worth trying and recommended. The hazy ipa just didn't have that fruity punch I like in a beer (I had hoped this one would too my list). Overall, though, really good selection of beer and not set to one niche style.Oh, the music was amazing. Late 90s/early 2000 alternative. Perfect setting for me! A must stop if you are in the area.

Really great venue for events and they have an amazing tour. I don't drink, but I really enjoyed my experiences here. First they have ample space for birthdays, going always, etc. they host events such as gear exchanges and so forth as well. I loved how patient and kind they were to us on a recent tour. I would definitely be back!!!

Beer is average to slightly above average. Ambience is similar to any of the many other craft breweries in the area, located in an industrial park without much to look at.Customer service, extremely poor. The bartender, "Big Red" was cold and impersonable. I'm sure he still insists on getting a 25% tip.Overall, the product they offer is a commodity in this area. I'd go elsewhere.

Best beer joint in Alexandria!. Be sure to to try beach drive and helles!

First, their porter is very good (no small thing since IPAs started distorting the beer universe). Second, terrific prices ($7 for 16 oz. pour). Third, dog friendly. Fourth, great ambiance. Fifth, free parking in Alexandria (say what?!).

After leaving Harrisonburg VA this afternoon, my work travels took me to Arlington/Alexandria VA. The closest Brewery to me was Port City. I checked out the Beer List and decided this sounded like my kind of place. They specialize in Lagers of all styles. Each one was unique, distinctive, and delicious. Once again I found myself at a loss of which was my favorite. They do flights of 6 at a time and provide you with tickets which you turn in for each sample. I tried 2 at a time, which made it easy to pair up my sample. I started with the Downright Pilsner and Pizza Night Lager. Then I moved on to the Mexican Dark Lager and the Schwarzbier Black Lager. Finally ended with the Helles Lager and the Oktoberfest. They gave me a freebie of the Porter. In all honesty, I could not choose one as my favorite as I felt all of them offered something I enjoy in my craft beer. If you've not checked them out, please do so. You won't be disappointed. Especially if you like Lagers!

Visited from out of state and it was an amazing experience! Highly recommend the tour on weekends as you learn a lot about the history of the brewery and how their operations work. All workers there provided excellent customer service and my tour guide was great! Definitely will visit again when I'm in town as Port City provides excellent quality beer at a great price for consumers (especially in 4 and 6 packs to go)!

Beer was fun, not a big focus on food. Has an Untappd board!
