The Crowne Plaza Hotel this Restsurant is in will close June 4, 2019. It's unknown whether an eatery will carry the name when the complex opens in the future.

Should have been a nice little pub style place.. was wrong.. service is not up to par, staff just hangs out.. ordered a quesadilla with out peppers, it came with peppers... food took forever with 6 people in the whole place..though all in all the actual meal was pretty good..and our waiter was a nice enough fellow.. just 2 stars for the experience...

Loved the setting, and the view. The bartender server was excellent, couldn't ask for better. The drink and the meal, salad with chicken were not what I expected. If I went again I would take time to ask specific questions about the food. The chicken was cut in tiney pieces and over dressed. I wasn't charged, be cause I couldn't eat it. I'm used to a sliced plain grilled chicken with sauce on the side or a light dressing.

The food was tough and bland. The 48 dollar bill for 2 people to dine here was outrageous for food this sub-par. Better dining could be found at McDonald's. The best part of the experience was the ice water

Food was okay, but definitely not worth the price you have to pay.

Nice place to unwind after working in Alexandria... Stop by got a pint and some wings with my classmates. Clean easy simple and the wings are tasty.

A better run business would clearly post its hours outside and would close the doors when they are closed. Service was fine and food was fine the time we were the only ones in there. Popped in another night at 10:20 PM for a drink and appetizer. Doors wide open. There were about 14 other people in there having a grand time. Got ignored at our table for 10 minutes. Went to the bar. Got ignored and walked away from until I finally said excuse me. I asked what the procedure was for getting service, and the bartender said, "We close in ten minutes, so . . ." So what? You thought that was a good reason to act like we weren't there?! We took the hint and left.

Not sure why all the bad reviews. I had the turkey club and it was good. The fries were good. The service was good. The prices were a little high but that's to be expected at a hotel restaurant/bar.

Not a recommendation for food. Ever.

This restaurant used to be quite good until they standardized the menu to other Crown Plaza hotels. It is terrible now and really overpriced. Staff is nice but the food and drink has taken a nose dive.

Excellent service and wonderful food. I stayed at the hotel, with my family, for one night and we decided to have dinner at the Railstop Gastropub. Our server, Medal, was very friendly, pleasant and attentive. Even when my younger brother spilled his drink, on the table and floor, she kindly cleaned up the mess and quickly brought him another drink. The ribeye steak, which I had, was soft and well done, just as I had ordered it, and not over burned. The mashed potatoes, which came with the steak, were tasty and not grainy at all, plus they had a wonderful creamy sauce on them.

This is the worst place I have ever visited anywhere in the country. We were the only ones in the restaurant. We waited almoat an hour for our food. I needed a refill and the staff couldn't be bothered to come back and check on us while we waited. I got up to go to the bar to find the place was deserted. One of the servers came out, saw me at the bar, and disappeared into the back while I waited another ten minutes for someone to take my drink order since our waitress never came back to ask if we needed refills. My boyfriend ordered a plain burger. An hour later a burger came out that had everything on it. He picked the lettuce off and put it on top of his fries because there was nowhere else to put it. The second server GRABBES THE LETTUCE OFF HIS FRIES. Yes. He reached down AND GRABBED FOOD OFF HIS PLATE. I don't leave bad reviews, but this place is terrible. Do not come here.

I give them a 2 for low effort on the part of the kitchen. I stayed at the hotel for a few days. One evening I ordered a Cobb salad for dinner. Walked it up to my room and it did not have avocado. Walked down and it was given to me in a bowl. I also ordered Mac and cheese with an upcharge for "bacon lardons". These were not lardons. It was just a bacon topping. The Mac and cheese was great but the add on was not as advertised. Finally, I got Mac and cheese on my last night with chicken. The chicken was not sliced enough. It was large chunks. I'm going to attribute this once again to the kitchen not trying. Low effort shows in the plates coming out of the kitchen.

I struggle with how to rate this place. The servers and bartenders are attentive, helpful, and pleasant. Some nights the food is clearly cooked by someone who has an amazing palette. I've had deviled eggs and steak frites that melt in my mouth. But other nights the textures and flavors are horrible...chicken the texture of canned tuna, lemon sauce so tart it makes your eyes water, and off-menu ingredients substituted that just don't taste good. Even the creme Brulee was horrible...grainy, not creamy, and not at all sweet, except for the caramelized sugar on top. I guess my biggest issue is inconsistency. This place needs to figure this out. If they can, it could be really great.
