Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

At The Goddard School of Alexandria West, we had the pleasure of welcoming Rita’s Italian Ice to our summer camp twice last year. The kids absolutely loved it, and their team made the experience fun and easy both times. They’re professional, friendly, and always bring the best treats. Highly recommend!

I can’t behind to explain what an experience I had at this location. I walked in the first thing i saw was a shirtless man singing that benson boone song about icecream. He shortly left and I chalked it off as some annoying kid making a little internet video. I approached the counter ready to place my order, but to my shock I saw a COCKROACH on the custard machine. As soon as it locked eyes with me it jumped and hid and when I told the worker he LAUGHED in my face like I was crazy. At this point I was tired from a long day at work and was seriously about to just buy my custard, roach or not, when a loud screeching sound came from outside. As I looked out the window I saw a limo pulling up, and out came 10 muscular clowns of various sizes and gender. They proceeded to cut in line, and the workers didn’t seem to even care and happily took their orders. Of course after this horrible customer service I immediately left and went home with NO CUSTARD. BEWARE OF THESE THINGS BEFORE YOU THINK ABOUT VISITING THIS LOCATION.

A little store with a lot of personality! I’ve frequented this location many times and am never disappointed. Abi has been the one to assist me the most and has always remained patient and kind while I request samples of any new flavors before making my final selection. Keep up the good work!

First time ever trying Rita’s Italian Ice, and I couldn’t have picked a better day—it was a full-on 100° outside. I needed something cold, fast, and Rita’s absolutely delivered. This place is built for summer survival.

I was blown away by the lineup of Italian ice flavors. I went with cotton candy (don’t judge—it slapped), and my friend grabbed the Georgia peach. Both were packed with flavor, super smooth, and surprisingly held their shape even in the insane heat. I expected it to turn into juice in minutes, but it stayed solid way longer than I thought. Definitely hit the mark.

The folks behind the counter were chill, plenty of flavors to pick from, and we were in and out with zero hassle. Clean, quick, and no drama.

For my first time at Rita’s, this Alexandria spot nailed it. Two thumbs up. I’ll be back next time the temps spike—or honestly, whenever I’m just craving something cold that actually delivers.

Cane to this location the other day with some friends and didn’t know what to order, Sabrina was very helpful in explaining and serving us our custard and ice cream.
