I really enjoyed my takeout from Rus Uz last week. I got the Samsa, Vareniki and the chocolate cake. The flavors were fantastic and super hearty--I definitely couldn't finish the Vareniki in one meal which to me made it absolutely worth the price. I will note that I think the cake was a bit overpriced--if I go back I'll probably stick to the savories--but it was still super well executed and indulgent. If you like sour cream and fresh dill you will be in heaven here.

We had an amazing experience at Rus Uz! The service is impeccable! The staff are so friendly and were very attentive. We had beer, appetizers, a main course, and dessert and all were fantastic! I cannot recommend this place more! The perfect spot to eat before heading to the movies next door.

The lamb chops were out of this world! Baaaa! I could see them now, grazing on grass before they get murdered (if you believe lambs have life in em). Their food is good, it’s exceptional. The service is good too although they treat you a little weird, you know typical Alexandria s***. They have a great beer selection (although mediocre it’s still good, like all beer). The people that go there, wow, they must have a lot of money because I barely see them eating anything.

As planning to visit Uzbekistan later this year, I came here with my friend to learn more about their dishes. We had Borsch, potato pirozhki, plov and Goluptsi. Borsch, Goluptsi and plov were delicious! Pirozhki was different from what I had expected - I imagined dumpling like dish but theirs is pie. There are a few more dishes that I would like to come back and try. The service was excellent! Friendly and attentive staff. They also have a small market in the restaurant.

We ate here several times and the food was always delicious. The Uzbek Plov (signature dish of Uzbekistan, aka 'lamb pilaf'), Mastava soup, Chicken Kabob, and tomato cucumber salad are particularly tasty. So if you like good meat and central asian cuisine, give it a try!

Great food, welcoming staff and interesting dishes! Highly recommend anyone who wants to dive into Uzbek and/or Russian dishes. As someone who grew up in Central Asia, I found it to be a nostalgic and uplifting experience overall. I wish they put Shawarma back into their original menu - so good!
