I have been to Rustico in both locations numerous times over many years. Yesterdays birthday dinner for my wife was unfortunately awful. Her salmon salad was super dry and ridiculously salty. My half chicken and mashed potatoes was also salty and was nothing short of tasting like institutional food. There was nothing special about either dish. My daughters kid pizza was fair and very soggy. The calamari appetizer was piping hot and also very fair. The slap in the face was that this meal was 105 dollars without tip. My wife's salad was 30 dollars! With the myriad of other pizza options popping up all over the place including Pupatella right down the street from Rustico Alexandria, I doubt I will be coming back.

Excellent experience! We came during restaurant week and each ordered their special with an appetizer, entree, and dessert and shared amongst ourselves to try more. Everything was AMAZING, food and service! Our favorite appetizer were the tots, entrees were all of them- the chimchurri steak, salmon with veggies, the gnocchi, and roasted chicken. All the desserts were so good too- especially the berry cheesecake and brownie sundae! Come and try it, you won't be disappointed!
Rustico food is excellent, staff is very courteous,and the neighborhood vibe is welcoming.

I’ll give em points for gender neutral restrooms but other than that, horrible experience with the food. Calamari tasted like stale swai and the strawberry sparkler didn’t taste like strawberry. I only tasted the basil syrup. Sorry.
I have to commend Rustico for their excellent service - on par with their excellent food. Our waiter, Henry, was extremely courteous and friendly and I can’t recommend him enough!

An early classic and continuing winner for the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, now a small, national gem with its core in the DC area, Rustico has a neighborhood feel with a top notch global beverage program with a focus on craft beer and good food. Staff is always knowledgeable and provides great, friendly service. They'll leave you alone if you want or engage in friendly conversation or education about your drinks. I've been enjoying Rustico for over a decade, and my last visit was as good as my first!

The pizza was delicious! Had a great char, was flavorful and not too greasy (I got a margherita and added pepperoni, so there wasn't a lot of fatty meat to begin with). I ordered water, so I don't know how the drinks are. I will say, my date and I were disappointed in the service. I made the reservation for his birthday and added a note to try and make it a special experience, if they could. The hostess was about to sit us inside when I asked for patio seating. Our server never gave us her name or followed up with our satisfaction, and was kinda flat personality wise. There was nothing special about her service. The manager stepped outside and didn't introduce herself either. Needless to say, I went inside and asked for our bill. No need to bring out a bday dessert or sing a song. The flys and bees outside were also relentless 😩. Go for pizza and that's about it.
