Manager was extremely rude to me and their staff while I was ordering. Pastry’s tasted extremely stale, and saw a dead mouse in the kitchen area. It’s one thing to be rude to a customer, another to have multiple health code violations.

Stayed in Alexandria recently and was given this place as a breakfast spot. Ordered Avocado toast and hot chocolate. The toast came un-toasted. I sent it back- 15 minutes later I received ice cold avocado on over toasted bread. Very disappointed- would not recommend

The Sunday morning crew could really benefit from a lead who is at least 30. It's taken awhile to put my finger on what is wrong, and I would describe it as a lax culture.

Waited 20 minutes while the staff served customers out of order, only for them to give me a cold bagel with no wrapper, untoasted, tossed in a bag with the wrong cream cheese.Basically everything they could have done wrong, they didNot worth a trip or the frustration

Some employees there lack basic customer service skills. I buy your horrible, hit or miss expensive coffee on a regular..don't threaten to kick me out the one day I choose to sit down first. Learn from Starbucks circa 2018. "we really want the base of customers to be from the neighborhood" yea...tell your staff that.

I’ve quickly become a regular since moving to the area. They always provide quick service even when busy. The coffee is the best in the area and smoked salmon sandwich is a must try.
We love St. Elmo! Best coffee in the area and the employees are

The food and service is always great here but the coffee is continuously a hit or miss and it’s frustrating. The iced drinks are perfect but the hot drinks routinely taste like burnt espresso. If I wanted burnt espresso, I’d go to Starbucks.
I almost never leave a negative review but I asked for a hot latte and she made and extra hot super dry cappuccino...very careless attitude. The place was supper filthy too. Never again at this location!

First time at St. Elmo’s in Fairlington and I’ll be back! I got tea and the turkey reuben for lunch. Both were very tasty! The sandwich was made fresh right after I ordered it. They have a larger menu than expected and a lot of delicious looking pastries. I plan on going back to try the coffee and other food options.

Coffee shop with a solid selection of drinks, foods, and pastries, ample seating, and friendly people. I came here with my GF and we both got vanilla latte's (her's hot and mine iced), and she got a muffin while I opted for a homemade pop tart. The coffee's were fine, but they did forget to add vanilla syrup to mine. The pastries were great though! Probably the best homemade pop tart I have ever had

This is great neighborhood coffeeshop to hang out as it’s usually not too crowded. I’m not a huge fan of the taste of St Elmo’s coffee beans but that doesn’t matter as we like the ambience and staff.

Oof. Coffee maker didn’t make my order, I waited 3” mins for my mocha. I returned to the counter to ask for a refund; he says “what do you want man?” After I explained that I’d been waiting for 30 mins he goes on about how he made the drink, called it out and then threw it away because no one claimed it. Thats impossible, I sat at the table right beside the counter waiting, it wasn’t busy, I could see the counter, the drinks, the staff, everything. I told him I came to the shop to do a review and they failed. A shrug and a “Whatever man.” Was the response.
