We went to this restaurant today and I honestly do not recommend it. After seeing the high online ratings, we were extremely disappointed—it felt like complete smoke and mirrors. I genuinely believe many of the reviewers may not have had a real Southern BBQ experience, and given the lack of BBQ competition in this area, expectations may be set very low.
Right away, there were several red flags. As we approached the restaurant, there was no aroma at all—no smoke, no grill smell, nothing you’d expect from a BBQ spot. We arrived around 1 PM on a Sunday, which should be a busy time, yet the place was almost empty. Only two people were sitting at the bar, and one of them was blasting music through his headphones so loudly it could be heard across the room—very odd atmosphere.
When we walked in, no one was at the register and no one greeted us. Having worked 7 years in food service and restaurant management, I know you never leave the front unattended. Eventually, someone came out, greeted us briefly, but offered no help or guidance with the menu.
We ordered smoked BBQ wings, brisket, burnt ends, collard greens, cornbread, and fries. The food came out quickly, which made sense given how empty the restaurant was—but unfortunately, that’s where the real disappointment began.
Food quality was terrible across the board:
1. Brisket – No flavor, no smoke ring, no texture, no tenderism, and absolutely no smoky taste. It was moist, but that’s the only positive. Avoid it.
2. Burnt ends – Extremely dry, tough, and hard to chew. Completely inedible. A total waste of money. Nothing tasted fresh, and nothing came out hot.
3. Collard greens – Watery and cold, clearly not heated properly. Had a strange sour taste (not vinegar-based).
4. Smoked BBQ wings – Decent at best, but very bland. The wings were lukewarm, and the sauce was heavily overdone—it carried all the flavor.
5. Cornbread – After everything else, we expected nothing, and that’s exactly what it delivered. Very mid.
6. Fries – Ironically, the best thing we ordered. They were the only item that came out hot, which is sad for a BBQ restaurant.
We ended up throwing most of the food away and walking out. We will definitely not be returning. I’m honestly surprised no one has been more honest in the reviews. If I could give -1 out of 10, I would.
I do not recommend this place, and they seriously need to take the burnt ends off the menu.

Brisket seems like it was not smoked properly.
Lacking flavor, color and bark. Sides are decent-good.

🔴 this spot was decent, the service was quick, the staf were friendly, & the brisket was delicious & juicy. Tacos 🌮 & burnt ends were 8/10.
Don't forget to try the Original BBQ sauce & the Honey Chipotle sauce with the brisket. 👌🏻😋 10/10.

A great BBQ place. They do loads of take away/ to-go business. They have a couple two-top tables inside, outdoor seating in nice weather, and a bar area with high tops and bar seating. The ribs are great, brisket is super tender, sides are terrific (especially the cowboy caviar). Order at the counter and find a seat. Some street parking, but right across from a parking garage.

The Fiery Mac & Cheese-QT was amazing and fresh, and the Sliced Beef Brisket was cooked to perfection. However, the Cornbread tasted like wonder bread with raisins inside(corn is baked inside the bread but they had the texture of raisins) also the BBQ Baked Beans had a wonderful flavor but were a bit gooey for some reason.
I go for lunch every couple of weeks. Food is consistently yummy! Staff are friendly. Space is comfy!!

4.5 stars is not an accurate rating. For a BBQ restaurant the BBQ was subpar. We ordered a lot and the best thing we ate were the tater tots.

The sliced turkey is undercooked. The cole slaw has absolutely no flavor and the beans are basic. The collard greens and mac are ok. Please stop undercooking poltry.
