This is hard to write because I remember when tango was in VA. I would happily drive 40 min plus to buy there empanada and sándwich de amingas… I went to go try them at there new location in dc and I was disappointed. The spinach empanada didn’t have flavor and the ham and cheese empanada was burnt. Now my tried and true sandwhich aminga are my all time favorite but they did not meet my expectations this time. They were small and the taste was mostly of mayo… As someone who is born and raised in BA I was sad because I know there food were amazing before! I don’t know if they changed people or cooks but the taste is different, I hope I just came in on an off day.
Food is subpar and is nothing like their VA location. Sadly ordered a media docena and paid too much for the quality. These are not facturas. If you’re Argentine, not even a good mate can save them.

Definitely authentic empanadas and pastries ! I love getting all versions of their Dulce de leche… coffee , croissant & alfajores 🤩🤩🤩 their tea sandwiches are simple and feel like your tia made it for you. I’m a fan of just coming here after work days and decompressing; feels like the cozy third place. Katriel, chef/owner, has been inviting and great energy to the community.

The thick yet fluffy empanadas are so good! I’ve had the beef and spinach, and I recommend the beef. They taste fresh and as if your grandma made them. One is a fulfilling serving size, the price is a little steep but you’re getting your moneys worth with the yummy dish. Plus it feels good to support local cafes.
