Love their breakfast food and their teas and coffee are amazing. My gf and I love getting our occasional brunch here.

Came here for an iced matcha & iced latte for my friend…the matcha tastes like flavored water, the worst matcha I’ve ever had. When I returned to Tatte five minutes later to get my drink re-made for an Iced Chai I encountered two barista’s at the barista station (2 Latino women) who did not have a pleasant attitude about remaking the drink despite me explaining that I did not like how it tasted, and I’ve never had a Matcha like this.
They have poor customer service and unpleasant energy for somewhere that wants to present as elegant & sophisticated.

We had a croque madame which was nothing of the sort: cheap ham and an egg in a croissant. It was OK, but not what we ordered. My cafe au lait was undrinkable: it tasted like very cheap instant coffee. The tea was better but comes in a bucket-sized paper cup.

Great food, great atmosphere. Only problem is everyone else knows this and always a line. Worth the wait, though. Always a go to when in Old Town. A nice treat for yourself or family.

I recently visited Tatte Bakery and Café for the first time ever and had a generally decent experience with their food. It had been a couple of years since I enjoyed a Croque Madame and it was a nice treat to have that French inspired food again. The baked goods were tasty and clearly the highlight, so foodwise, they’re doing well.
On the flip side, the drinks were not particularly impressive and definitely not their strong suit compared to the food and baked items.
One hiccup I ran into was that I ordered several bakery items for a to-go pickup and one item was missing from my bag even though I was charged for it. Since it was pretty busy at around 10:30 AM and there wasn't much signage to guide where to pick up orders, it was a bit confusing. I asked one staff member who was prepping food for directions and he just vaguely pointed. Thankfully, a waiter overheard and actually showed me exactly where to go to pick up my to-go order.
Overall Tate’s Bakery has good food and baked goods, but could improve on signage and the pickup process. The experience was decent, just a bit disorganized during busy times.

This place serves heavenly food! They’ve got the best kebab pita I’ve ever had!! And trust me I’ve had a lot lol I also recommend their cheese cake!!

Tatte's strategy seems to be promoting an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere, instagrammable treats, and a small outdoor area on King St. This is a great place to work or hang out with a friend, but definitely not for top quality pastries. When I double checked with the manager that I had the right pastry, and he confirmed, I almost shed a tear. They are passing off a brioche bun with sticky sauce as a Kouign Amman. Mon dieu!
Also, their plants need watering 😢

I don't think I've ever seen staff actively dislike their customers like this place. They'll give you the wrong item and then give you a stank face for asking for the correct item. The lattes are terrible too and watered down.

They should take the numbers away when they serve you everything. That way the managers and the servers know who’s been waiting and who’s waiting and if it’s been too long. Also cuts down on the servers having to look at every tables number. The only numbers are people actually waiting.
