Del Ray gem, great custard, fun daily flavors and I love that they take previous flavors and make them into gelato sandwiches. I wish the sorbet flavors were shared on the website's Flavor Forecast but other than that, no complaints! The donuts from Just Fine Donuts (inside) are also dkeicious. DG has become a regular treat for me!

Ice cream good, value bad. Chocolate custard was delicious but the cup size was the smallest I’ve seen. I guess I should have ordered the cone size because I saw someone else with one and looks like it is a better value.
The Dairy Godmother is a DelRay institution ... we ride our bikes here every Wednesday for our custard fix.

The Dairy Godmother is an Alexandria staple. Our family has been going here for years. The custard shop has a variety of sorbets, three different custard a day, bakery items, and a fabulous sparkly wand for the dairy godmother in all of us. Another great thing about the Dairy Godmother is you run into many other community members here enjoying time with family and friends. You can enjoy your ice cream in the shop, out on the benches, walking the Mount Vernon Ave. strip or across the street where you can look at the different dog murals.

My go to dessert spot in the neighborhood. Solid custard but I love their sorbet flavors (they had a cilantro one that was surprisingly good). They operate on a rotating menu so there’s always something new.
