Good food and great value
Love the food! Not as great as the original on the streets of NYC, but the next best thing. Really hoping one opens closer to home. But anytime we are in the area, we stop by.
The girl serving us had the biggest smile on her face and delivered amazing customer service—especially impressive at 10pm on a Friday night. A rare find! Great experience at Halal Guys Alexandria.
The food was good. I got the platter with gyro meat. I feel like the quality has declined a bit since they first opened.
I love their chicken and gyro combo platter. Their white sauce can’t be compared. Some advice: If you want to try the hot sauce, first add a little bit to your plate. It’s hotter than jalapeños. They have to-go sauce packets, which are perfect for first-time customers.
I went here during the last week of ramadan and they were advertising free dessert for an entree purchase and they would not honor it. I ate dine in and watched as they made a different lie up to each customer that asked for it. I also posted this in northern virignia foodies group and it got more than 200 reactions and comments when it happened and everyone was bashing Halal Guys and said not to go there and goto DCG or Omars in Potomac Yard. I also emailed corporate and never got a reply. This is why Halal Guys has lost so much sales to Shahs and will prolly shut down most locations they do sketchy stuff and have terrible rude workers
Dear owner, you need to have a better person for the evening shift.
Last night, I went to have food with two of my friends at 10:00 PM sharp, as it says online that you close at 11:00 PM. We ordered three full platters and wings, though he gave way less rice. I told him we were going to dine in.
The cashier/order taker said the lobby was closed by 10:00 PM. I said if we couldn’t eat there, we would just go somewhere else.
He kind of agreed to let us eat because he wanted to sell the food.
We were about to finish our food when a police officer came to the store to buy something.
Your stupid cashier put our lives at risk, started yelling in front of the police officer, saying, “Why are you guys eating inside? I told you the lobby is closed, and I only gave you 5 minutes.”
This is such pathetic behavior, putting your customers in an unwelcoming situation over just $60 worth of food.
Please update your Google Maps listing to say the lobby closes at 10:00 pm
Stopped for a takeout order. Don't know if this is the same chain we had in Las Vegas. We had a chicken and beef gyro sandwiches and beef gyro bowls complete the infamous white sauce. For an additional $1, one can add hummus on top of the bowls too.
Worst spot ever over charging ridiculous quantities
It’s a chain restaurant, better than most halal guys I’ve been to in the dmv area, good portions.

The chicken taste weird and had zero flavor
I purchased a regular bowl with half chicken, half gyro. The chicken and gyro meat was dry,and my chicken had a spoiled unpleasant flavor. I had to discard my whole bowl, because I feared getting sick.
Not as nearly as good as the NYC originals.
Also they don't serve lamb.
Disappointed at my wishful expectations.
I got the beef and it literally looked like dog food and tasted like vegan fake pea protein meat. No wonder it was halal, it’s not even real meat! Spent so much, got horrible food and what did they do with the white sauce? Tastes like nothing with a side of cream.only thing I liked was the eggplant mushy thing, I think I will starve tonight :(
