Okay, look. Growing up in New York City, I'm a certified pizza snob. I know what good pizza is, and frankly, finding a decent slice in the DMV can be tough. But Hanover Pizza? This place is seriously awesome. It's hands-down the best pizza I've had in the DMV area. The flavor, the crust—it actually hits that high bar. I'm giving it an 8 out of 10 for a top, authentic NYC-standard slice. If you're looking for real pizza, stop scrolling and just go.

Spontaneously walked in while passing by. I had a slice of cheese and was very pleasantly surprised by how satisfying it was, I bought another slice to go.
The crust was good for folding. The semolina on the bottom was tastefully balanced. The cheese-to-sauce ratio was perfect. It was a really solid NY-style slice of pizza. I would definitely come back and already have it mind to do so during my next trip in to Old Town Alexandria.
Simple pizza menu. The pies were visible right there behind the counter. No fuss. No complaints from me.
Also want to note that Old Town Alexandria is generally a really LGBTQIA+ friendly area, for those travelers/foodies/etc. from elsewhere looking to travel to a queer friendly town/city. Pride flags are common, so for safety reasons, fyi, people are really friendly and welcoming and I've had great experiences here. 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈❤️
