Best staff in Alexandria with great food (try the brisket grilled cheese!) and atmosphere. Wednesday night trivia is the best we've tried in the area. 10/10 will return.

Absolutely horrible. The manager was such a jerk. Honestly I’ve never met someone in the hospitality business that was so abrupt and rude. We came with a group of 14 and had a horrible time. Go to Murphy’s next door. WAY BETTER!

I came here with my friends on a Tuesday night, around 20 minutes before kitchen closes, not realising that. Yet we were greeted warmly with incredible food and drinks! Chicken literally melts in the mouth!!

The bar upstairs has fun live bands on the weekend. Excellent waitress (Hailey) and good bartenders. Drinks are reasonable for rhe area. It is small so sometimes crowded. I heard there was a prime rib special on Tuesdays, that is next on my list to try here.(this review doesn't cover food, yet).

I hosted my 40th birthday party here for about 30 people, and it was a fantastic choice for space, privacy, food, and value. Duncan (the private events manager) was incredibly helpful in planning my event. He offered great recommendations on seating arrangements, buffet placement, drinks/bar options, and even Spotify/music setup. He was flexible with the timing of the event and worked within my budget, providing helpful suggestions along the way.

The food was excellent, with a wide variety of appetizers, sides, and entrees served buffet-style, allowing me to choose and accommodate different guest preferences. Their menu is a la carte platters so you can get as much or as little as you want. While I didn't opt for an open bar, our reserved area was right next to the upstairs bar, so guests could easily start a tab if they wanted drinks.

Overall, I was very happy with the options, pricing, and flexibility of this venue. I booked the upstairs space on a Sunday afternoon outside of their usual hours. I was able to open/use the space for a small fee — entirely worth it. It was so much more affordable than other restaurant event spaces with minimum spend requirements.

Many other restaurants in the area have strict minimum spends, limited menu options, and charge expensive food and drink packages per person (you are charged by number of guests).. but Light Horse was accommodating and allowed me to plan for a sizable group at a reasonable price. I highly recommend this venue for birthdays, promotions, work events, and more.

Cassie was a fantastic! Very sweet and patient with our walk-in party of twelve. Great recommendations during our meal. We had her again as our bartender tonight and she was just as nice, and she can make a great espresso martini :)
