While the ambiance and service was very good, the gnocchi was not only very small for the price you’re paying, did not taste all that great either. $28 for 10 pieces of gnocchi and a little braised chicken is just not worth it.

Wow. What a great experience! This place is a real gem. Coming from New York and Philadelphia we have experienced excellent Italian for years. After relocating here a few years back and trying many restaurants in the area this is by far the best Italian we have had in the DMV. Lucy is an amazing chef and host and their menu and specialities are some of the best we have experienced. So excited to have this as a dinner option downtown. We will be back soon!!

The food was good but the tiny overpriced portions was painfully obvious here. The pasta was well e exucted. It just wasn't anything that special, not for the price at least. They come across as very arrogant about it too. Service wasn't even that good. Our server had literally zero wine knowledge or ability to pair any wines with anything. Overall disappointing overpriced experience.

The food was absolutely delicious. I got the squid ink pasta with a glass of wine for the Monday special. The squid ink was phenomenal! The service was nice and the food came fast, despite how packed it was. The place is a bit cramped for how many people there are.

I wasn't impressed with their food for the price I paid. The pasta was cooked well. The ingredients were fresh but the sauce was okay. I tried several squid ink pasta but this was the first time I couldn't taste the flavor. I didnt like the service. While I was waiting for the pickup, they just made me wait by the door where ppl were in and out. It was very uncomfortable. Also, there was no utensil or napkin in the bag. From the short visit the ambience was romantic and nice.

I waited too long to try this place out! $10 apertifs from open to 6pm, every day! The lamb meatballs are a must. The bread and olive oil texture are perfect. The cocktails are unique, and delicious. 10/10 for the Shway Shway.

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! This review is super late, but I figured better late than never. I ordered delivery from Thompson's Alexandria location on April 29th and there was an issue with one of the items. I called the restaurant and Cindy answered the phone and provided amazing service. She was receptive, efficient, came up with a creative and personalized solution and did it with the utmost professionalism and kindness. I also asked her who the chef was because the food was superb. She informed me that it was Chef Lucy and she was also an integral part of this success story. Thank you to Thompson for the impressive service and memorable meal. Please keep this up, its hard to find.
