I finally made it here! & to see the hype and because my yelp friends kept mentioning it!!... its total cooked up legal crack!! Got a chicken box and let me tell you!! It's No regular fried chicken!! That chicken skin must be dipped in finely grounded in house or fresh Amish market rinds bacon & made until crispy it's definitely Something!!! cuz it's heavily reminiscent of pork rinds!!! It's chicken that you can't compare at ALL.. from the coating the juicy seasoned chicken when you bite into it it's flavor through and through and that's where A LOT of establishments miss it your chicken meat has to be seasoned too!!! just just after you fry it!! The Mumbo Sauce is highly recommended!! it has a excellent kick to it can't be compared to your hood mumbo sauce either!! Like not even a little bit!! The service and ambience is very chill friendly . Oh and if you're worried about your chicken getting soggy skin after you close your box even for 15 minutes!! It won't happen your skin stays CRISPY CRUNCHY!! And that's Top Tier right there and doesn't dry out if you nuke it in the microwave for a little bit. It's safe to say I'll be returning here to try other items!!

Visited here last Saturday with my family and it was packed but from the taste of the food, I know why! Firstly, they don't have a kids menu so for anyone taking small children, you will have to order them from the regular menu. It was an issue for me but just a heads up. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures because the food was soooo good that we barely breathed in between bites lol. We ordered 3 pieces of chicken wings that came with 2 cornbread muffins, mac & cheese and candied yams; 3 pieces of tenders with mac & cheese; 9 piece fried shrimp that came with 2 cornbread muffins, corn on the cob and mashed potatoes; banana pudding, strawberry and drinks. The only thing that needed seasoning was the corn but other than that, ALL of the food was way too good. Pricing was pretty good; We spent about $70 for all that food. The bathrooms were extremely clean and smelled really good. The only downside is they need to move to a bigger building and need more parking because they don't have a lot of seating inside and the food/service is way too good for them not to be able to have more space for all the business there are getting and will be getting

I almost wanna gatekeep this one. Just go. I haven't tried anything I didn't like. From the waffles, to the chicken, fish, shrimp, rice, banana pudding, it doesn't matter as you can't go wrong. The place is very casual. It looks like a converted McDonald's or something. They have regular tables and high tables that they keep fairly clean. Although they have a parking lot, you may be hard pressed to find an available spot during busy hours, especially brunch. They're quite efficient, but you may be in for a long wait at times. Since they have online ordering, I sometimes place an online order for takeout on my way home to Richmond.

Unfortunately this place did not live up to hype. I have seen a few reviews for this place and just knew I had to try it. I double checked the reviews to ensure nothing had changed and still saw high reviews. We ordered online $50 worth of food. We arrived at the time when everything should be ready and had to wait. There were many people waiting...customers were even helping hand out orders. The place is pretty small felt like a clean fast food place. I was also under the impression this was black owned business (another reason why we visited) but none of the workers were black...which should have been a flag. We order 9 piece chicken, corn bread (which later realized was missing), yams, mac and cheese, "seafood salad" and banana pudding. The chicken was only thing I may eat again - if you're looking for seasoned chicken with decent mambo sauce then here you go. BUT if you're looking for true southern soul food sides this isn't it. The seafood salad was mayo and imitation crab that's it...no seasoning and no real seafood. Mac & cheese lacks seasoning. Yams were decent but nothing to write home about. The bananas in the banana pudding was black. Overall...never again.

This place is ?!!! Ordered the 9 piece and 2 waffles. The chicken might be the best fried chicken I've had. Its up there. The waffle is good too had to put it in the oven but thats my preference.. 5 STARS easy

Paid for a 9pc chicken and only got 7, called the restaurant several times and no one picks up the phone. Unfortunately I could not go back to the restaurant to complain about it because I do not live in the area! I noticed that while I was placing my order, the lady at the register keep taking her coworkers and not actually paying attention to what I was saying, but of course I got charged for things I did not get!

Taste was ok and chicken in checked sandwich was not so tender. Went for Chicken sandwich as it was shown popular but I feel I should have gone for the salad

Food great! May need to raise prices clientele very low class. Parking lot full on a Sunday morning line out the door several cars, people smoking marijuana. Route one can be very dangerous. If they don't up their standards it not if but when there is a serious incident. I will only order to go for now.

Placed an order online. They did not include my sides (annoying but not the end of the world). Additionally, was enjoying my nashville chicken sandwich until I found an eyelash in it.

Delicious food and informal, chill atmosphere. A bit expensive but food came quick. Would eat here again.

Uncle C's chicken and waffles located in Alexandria, VA. They offer southern fried chicken and shrimp as well as mac and cheese, fries, yams, mashed potatoes and chicken sandwiches. Not to mention they also serve waffles. Uncle C's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I ordered the three piece chicken and waffles, mac and cheese and a lemonade during my visit. You have a choice of meat for your entree. They serve tenders, wings and thighs. I opted for the tenders and the wing option. The wing was perfectly seasoned and crispy. The tenders were well seasoned too. I am all about a good waffle. There was a dollop of butter that was melted by the time I opened my waffle but hands down was the best waffle I've had in a while. The Mac and cheese was served in a little container. I knew when I took the lid off it was going to be a hit and it was. Now pack your patience. I arrived at just the right time. Right after I placed my order the restaurant filled up quickly. The food was great! I driven past several times and glad I finally decided to check this place out.
