Absolutely stunning food. The owner is so personable, the wait staff is knowledgeable on the food. But the true highlight is the food. I can not stop raving how amazing the food is. My personal favorite thing on the menu is the arancini. The only thing I regret is not doing the full 8 course menu 😂

Vermilion is one of my favorite restaurants in the DC metro. We're always happy when we eat here - excellent food, pleasant service, nice not overly noisy environment. Last night we tried the farm table menu for 2. Be aware, this is a very large meal that includes little extras from the kitchen as well as multiple appetizers, a shared entree and shared dessert.

the food was very good with large portions and the service as well - not intrusive but aware. My only complaint is the noise - like so many restaurants these days, you have to shout to be heard. The hostess said she would give us a table upstairs where it would be quieter, but then said the people at the table before us were still there, despite our reservation. We asked if we could wait until they cleared out but she said it would be a half hour so we sat downstairs and shouted. Outdoors would be quieter but it is too cold now.

Excellent meal and service as always. One very minor comment: the maple roast autumn squash was a bit large as an appetizer and could've used a higher pear-to-squash ratio. This did not detract from the experience and Vermillion remains a favorite of ours in Old Town.

I enjoyed a nice dinner at Vermilion after traveling for 12 hours due to weather delays. Im not sure if it is my extreme hunger or my love of unique restaurants, but I definitely enjoyed my dinner here. I had the New Frontier Bison Flank Steak and enjoyed every bite. The unique combo of red sauce with beans accompanied by medium rare bison and some small slices of goat cheese were an enjoyable experience. The gentleman behind the bar was a retired Marine and complete professional. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and I believe that you will too.
Bad experience. Although they admitted their mistake by not charging us for the burgers they'd forgotten to include in our order. It took 50 minutes for them to arrive at our table. The food was good. Apple cider donuts and the aforementioned burgers.

I had an incredible time at Vermilion for my birthday dinner. From the moment I walked in the hospitality blew me away. A warm greeting from Scott, a beautiful seat, and the acknowledgement of my birthday started the night off right and it only got better with Ellie and Josephine's attentiveness and the fantastic food. My friends told me Vermilion would take care of me and they certainly did. I'll definitely be coming back.

Waitress served us the wrong appetizer and entree (which was $12 more) and didn't try to fix it. She didn't comp it or adjust the bill for either item after we brought it to her attention. Kind of made us feel bad for even mentioning it.
