Whiskey & Oyster is my run away from home for oysters and peace of mind. Although the menu changes regularly, and the recipes have changed since the original chef left; it is still by far the best place to enjoy a great meal.
Whiskey and Oysters is now charging a fee for the use of credit cards. I asked if they would accept a debit card, which has no fees. They said (and by “they” I mean the server and the manager) yes. BUT, they were unable to actually process a debit card. So if you go there, you might want to bring cash.
We are fast becoming "regulars" at W&O. Oyster Day is great but many good options for friends who aren't oysterholics. Regular (non Oyster Day) is still very good and I would still rate as highly as Oyster Day.
I had dined here twice before...and couple years ago, and this was not as great of an experience as it has been in the past. Possibly understaffed on a Friday night. Food was just not as great as it used to be. It was fine, but not the wonderful tasty experience I had before.
Always a good time. Consistent food and drinks. Sorry to see so much staff turnover, but the new staff are pleasant and learning quickly.
I ordered the breakfast sandwich but did not get any bacon. It wasn't a huge deal but by the time I realized no one had come back around to check in. Also, description of the grits could add their blue corn, it threw us off at first. The food was delicious and we will probably visit again.
Service was polite. Food did not all come out at same time. No refills on soda or tea. Charged 3% credit card fee to us.
While it wasn't not busy, there was a long pause between being seated and the waiter addressing our table. Once she arrived service picked up. Unfortunately the sides and soup were quite bland. But the crabcakes were really good so it made up for it.
At first I was worried since we'd been waiting for just over ten minutes but when I asked a manager, he got us started. It was a nice Mother's Day brunch. Everything was great except I'd say the temperature for my dish was cold but tbh, I left it alone. Everything was great and they reacted quickly when I drew attention to the fact that we'd been waiting a while for a greeting / drink order. They comped our 2 cocktails as a good faith measure and we appreciated that. We tipped our server well beyond what would've corresponded on the original bills value - we certainly wanted to be fair. Great place and will check it out again! Loved the ambiance.
Our server Tisha was spectacular - charming, efficient, simply delightful...and the meal as always was superb. What a fantastic gem of a neighborhood restaurant. Thank you Whiskey & Oyster. Diners: ask for one of Tisha's tables!

Food is amazing and service is exceptional! Dollar oysters are delicious- clam chowder is over the top great!
I've always had good food and service at Whiskey and Oyster. I suggested that my friend (who had never eaten there) join me for dinner. Our pear salad was delicious and the drinks were fine. However, I ordered steamed clams (with spicy broth) and she ordered steamed mussels )with garlic broth). When the entrees came, both us us were given mussels. I sent mine back and was given steamed clams with cider/bacon broth (which wasn't even an option for clams on the menu, a weird tasting combination). I went ahead and ate it although it was not what I wanted. On the other hand, my friend's mussels were gritty/sandy and the broth was watery and had no flavor. She could not even eat it and the waitress talked to the chef and she was not charged for it. The service was excellent and we appreciated the chef's action to comp her. I have ordered the clams dish and other entrees many times in the past there and they were fine, so perhaps it was just an off night. But wanted to pass this along.
Came from Baltimore to visit this restaurant and when we arrived we were greeted by very poor wait staff and waited 23 minutes and nothing. No one never came to my table to serve me. 3 servers walked past us and no one ever acknowledged us, I don't know if it was a race issue or they just did not want to work but either way it was very unprofessional.
Tacos and fried oysters
Positive experience overall, food presentation was good, service was friendly but so so slow, unfortunately
