An excellent sushi place off the Little River Turnpike, straddling the line between casual and elegant. Perhaps more old-school than modern, but that doesn't detract from the food and service.
Absolutely great place to sit down and chill, or to enjoy a great meal. Doesn't have to be sushi, they also have Thai.
The only person for whom I will leave this comment is for Kim today my boyfriend and I went to eat at this place which we arrived at 10:30 but the schedule says that they close at 10:00 and our surprise at 9:45 that we wanted to order more sushi the cooks refused to make more sushi saying that it was already closed but the schedule says that they close at 10:00? And to make more surprise the cooks left at exactly 10:01 and left the waitress alone (Kim) she very kindly apologized to us because there was no one with her when they are supposed to be a team right ? the truth we were very surprised that they did not mind leaving her alone without caring about anything but leaving their job😞 We were very surprised at how a very young girl like Kim made our dinner enjoyable despite not having her colleagues next to her, thank you very much Kim for your service I think they should change the schedule and put that they close at 9:45 and not at 10:00 thanks Again Kim
I’ve been coming to Yamazato Sushi since 2015, and it’s the reason I even eat sushi today! The food is always fresh, delicious, and priced very well. The service has consistently been top tier all these years, and the prices have stayed reasonable without ever compromising quality. There’s plenty of parking, great drinks, and lots of options even for folks who don’t eat sushi. I absolutely love this place and recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing sushi spot.
My family loves to go there when we are in the area. Food is so good, we get excited and always order more than we can eat 😆 🤣
We got takeout and it was delicious! The food was well packed and didn't shuffle around in transit. The sushi rolls were largely fantastic! The XO was a clear winner for both my partner and I. The Tiger eye roll though was unfortunately a little fishy in not a good way and kept falling apart. Other than that we loved it and would definitely go back!
I loved their sushi here! Some of the best I have had in the area! Their poke bowl was delicious too! Cocktails also great, cant wait to be back!
I like this place a lot but the take out portions on beef (KawPow) are so small compare to a spicy eggplant! Smaller than any lunch portions around Alexandria. Please don’t cut on food supply and service quality on take out vs dinning in! Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed about cutting portions! Not when you are paying $18-19 a dish!
Best Sushi
Tried this place after reading the reviews, and it was great! No reservation needed on a Saturday night. We had the Godzilla roll, a spicy tuna roll (forgot the exact name), fried rice, and Pad See Ew—everything was delicious. We’ll be back to try more rolls!
hanging up on me when i ask one question because you’re busy is crazy!! am i not a customer as well??

teriyaki chicken was incredibly bland and almost rubbery, there was a roach crawling around and we were practically the only ones in the there. the service was great but the food made me really nauseous, which is sad because i used to eat here all the time when i was younger. 100$ for a stomachache and some arguably mid food.
Food was amazing! Their Chirashi special had big cuts of fish so it was filling and tasted fresh. What a great find!
Ben always greets us like family and so does Suzie. We love eating here..I'm gluten sensitive and the chef used gluten free soy sauce in my fried rice. Thanks for everything.. love and Peace Debra and Ralph ❣️
terrible company. might have been great before. However, they are cutting corners. i ordered double jack and coke.. and she brought me house wiskey and coke.. i politely told her this was not Jack. she showed me the bottle and offered to pour another shot.. I could take the jack but still was obviously black label well. . the food came out okay.. the Wasabi was just paste.. do not recommend
Food not representative of photos on website. Small portion sizes. Very greasy compared to other Thai dishes served elsewhere. I ordered the kaprow. Little to no veggies, couldn't taste the Thai basil...just grease and fish sauce.
