“I have been going to the Tavern during my VIR visits at least a couple times each year since 2018. The experience that I get here is usually pretty inconsistent, sometimes the food is quite good, other times not so much. They do have a rotating menu which is constantly changed year to year, they used to have a garden salad that could have a blackened salmon with a special balsamic glaze added to it which was phenomenal, I wish they would keep that consistently on the menu. Burgers are usually pretty good, steaks can be overcooked at times but usually pretty good as well. The biggest improvement they could make is to have some consistency with their food.

The venue itself is incredible, its beautiful there! The atmosphere of being at VIR is hard to beat.

Service for me has always been really good, never had any issues with our servers or getting food in a timely manner.”

“They have 2 picnic tables outside to eat, otherwise it’s takeout and eat in your car. We bring 2 camping chairs and eat in back. Watch life go by 😃 Great food, worth the wait!”

I ordered chop steak and baked potato and every bite was awesome. We will definitely go back and I recommend trying because this place is a “keeper”.”

“This place was featured in our Electric Co-op magazine and the food looked amazing. We drove by the food trailer once because it had the name Kahuna. And the presentation wasn’t very appealing. I am sure glad we went back because it is hands down the best seafood I’ve eaten. I never cared for scallops because they were always gritty. These scallops were lightly breaded and delicious with no grit. We ordered the fish, shrimp and scallops. It comes with fries and a few packets of sauce. The order was more than enough to feed 2 of us. Mr Breedlove was very kind and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit. My mouth is watering just thinking of Mr Breedloves seafood.”

“Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant did not disappoint. Chinese takeout can be a gamble. It is either really good or really bad, and this one landed firmly in the really good column. I ordered chicken and broccoli in garlic sauce. The food was packed with flavor and ready fast, which is exactly what you want when you are starving and standing by the counter. Portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh. This is definitely going on my regular takeout list.”
