The food was spectacular! Some of the best we have had in Nelson County, but it took a very long time and service was slow.

I've always given the benefit of the doubt, but if you serve $20 1/2 rack of ribs meal and the ribs are unbeatable because they're harder than the knife I was trying to cut them with..... "Oh, we'll take care of that. I'm sorry." 10% off the meal... lol again I'll pay it and I'll still tip you good because i know you aint cooking, but I ain't coming back.

The food was good. My burger was cooked as ordered and hot. Fries were warm. The server was really nice and did a good job but not as attentive as most. The food took a decent amount of time to come out vs the time ordered. They seemed on the busy side though.

Was very excited to try bonfire , had been wanting to try it since they opened, just never out in Amherst. We got there around 215 and was greeted by the waitress and received water , unfortunately that was the only good part of our visit. The other employee was just sitting at the bar appeared to be drinking a beer, doing paperwork possibly? When we were ordering I wanted the Rueben and Mac and cheese , but was told they were out of both , so I asked if the ribs were available. The server said yes, so ordered them. After an hour of waiting my partner went to the bar and asked where our food was that weâd been there for an hour. No response , about 15 mins later our food arrives. Her burger had been sitting under the heat window so long the top bun was toasted and too hard to eat , the ribs⊠they were tough and chewy. We received no apologies or even an explanation. Eventually we had asked the waitress who claims â oh the ribs took longer than expectedâ I wouldâve rather have been told in the beginning that the ribs werenât available than be made to wait an hour + for tough ribs, an overcooked burger with hard bun and soggy fried onions. It was a horrible experience .

We were so excited to try Bonfire, to say it was a disappointment was a huge understatement. We were greeted at our table by the server and that was the best part of our experience. The manager(?) was at the bar maybe doing paperwork, and was having to nod or shake her head when our server was asking her if they had items we were ordering. They didnât have the Reuben, no Mac n cheese, no mushrooms for the risottoâŠso we got the ribs and cowboy burger. We waited and waited, every table that came in after us was served. After waiting for nearly an hour and no communication from anyone (the server and manager?) who walked by us SEVERAL times, never checking on us ..never asking if we needed more waterâŠNOTHING. I finally had to go to the bar and asked how much longer it would be. I told her we had been there for an hour. No one even acknowledged me so I went back to our table. We were going to leave, but about 10 mins later here comes our food. No explanation or apology as to the delay. The ribs were rubbery and burger was over cooked and the bun was so hard I couldnât eat it. I had to ask for napkins, ketchup and no silverware was offered for the slaw. No one asked how the food was. I had to ask again for more water, I then took the opportunity to ask what happened with our order. We were told it was cause the ribs werenât done and there was only 1cook and everyone else was at an event! We were never offered an apology or even a discount. We will NEVER be back. It was absolutely unprofessional on all levels, the food was terrible.

Nice place in a small town, great food and service. The only issue for me was the heavy smoke from the kitchen grill inside the restaurant. The space is small, which made the smoke suffocating.

If I could give a thousand stars for great service I would. We had such an amazing time at Bonfire with our large group. We made a same day reservation for our group and they did so amazing at accommodating us. Our servers were incredibly attentive and told us all about the specials and about the restaurant and their local food sources.
All of our food, mixed drinks, and local drinks were phenomenal. I personally had the goat & fig burger and it was incredible. I also tried the cauliflower wings which were such an amazing alternative. They had great vegetarian options for those that needed them.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. Such an amazing way to support locals.

We were visiting Amherst for the weekend and decidedt grab dinner at Bonfire.
Wonderful experience.
Local beef is no joke, the owner of the cattle that they use was actually there that night.
Service is 5 star, Lucas was our server, but the staff, takes care of each other. I counted 3 other servers that either brought us food, or asked if we needed anything
Price: very comparable (less) to what we would spend in the city, for food that is prepared with love.
Highly recommend,

This place is a burger loverâs paradise! They are dedicated to crafting exceptional burgers, and it truly shows. Their beef is fresh, locally sourced, and the flavor is phenomenal. The atmosphere is great, though the service could be a bit quicker and more attentive to the guests. Nonetheless, these burgers are worth every cent, and this review is a 5-star!

Came across this place in between hikes (Cole Mountain and Crabtree Falls). Wonderful food, really just a perfect meal after a 7 mile hike. Smoked brisket "reuben" was tasty and the wife's PoBoy was great as well. Fries were the rough cut variety and delicious. If you find yourself in Amherst, don't hesitate to stop by and grab a bite here!
