We had the smoked wings, the pimento cheese burger, and the fries (most of which were to go because, well, so full from everything else) with Brussels sprouts — all were excellent. The wings had great smoke and seasoning, the burger was spot on (though next time I’d get the regular burger just to enjoy more of that beef), and even the Brussels sprouts were done right.
The bourbon list is impressive too — had Elijah Craig Toasted and Heavenhill Grain to Glass Rye. Wish I had a spot like this back home.
Service: excellent (we sat at the bar).

We were driving past Amhurst and stopped to eat. The food was absolutely delicious. He atmosphere was perfect and the place was so crowded we needed reservations. Lots of locals. Prices were very good for the quality of food.

This place was awesome! The service was phenomenal and the wings were some of the best I've ever eaten. We stopped here on a whim while traveling through the state and it did not disappoint. The menu isn't very big. But that wasn't an issue because what they had on the menu was delicious. I wish Bonfire wasn't 4 hours from my house or else I would be here every weekend! Hell, I might even make a day trip to come pick up some wings and drive back home.

Absolutely enjoyed our dinner at Bonfire! My husband had an excellent ribeye and my roasted beets goat cheese was delicious! Very nice and cute place! They served a creative dessert of beignets with a cherry liqueur what was delicious!! I would recommend this place if you are in Amherst, VA!

This is a top notch experience from start to finish. Everything is quality and the owner gives personal touch to all his patrons. This is the kind of place that if you go and aren't enjoying yourself, that's a you problem.

The chef is amazing! The menu standards are limited but creative and local beef and produce can’t go wrong! Always offering specialty items for an option! Never had a bad cocktail!

We visited while traveling. It wasn’t far from the interstate so it didn’t add much time to our route. It was a weeknight and things had slowed down early so the kitchen was closing early. We arrived with only one minute to order and the staff was nice enough to still serve us. (Thanks again, staff. If you’re reading this. We appreciate you!) We both had burgers and split fries and a side of Mac n cheese. Everything was good, especially the lamb burger. The staff were so friendly. They even helped us with recommendations for hiking in the area that we wouldn’t have otherwise ever found.

The food was spectacular! Some of the best we have had in Nelson County, but it took a very long time and service was slow.

I've always given the benefit of the doubt, but if you serve $20 1/2 rack of ribs meal and the ribs are unbeatable because they're harder than the knife I was trying to cut them with..... "Oh, we'll take care of that. I'm sorry." 10% off the meal... lol again I'll pay it and I'll still tip you good because i know you aint cooking, but I ain't coming back.

The food was good. My burger was cooked as ordered and hot. Fries were warm. The server was really nice and did a good job but not as attentive as most. The food took a decent amount of time to come out vs the time ordered. They seemed on the busy side though.

Was very excited to try bonfire , had been wanting to try it since they opened, just never out in Amherst. We got there around 215 and was greeted by the waitress and received water , unfortunately that was the only good part of our visit. The other employee was just sitting at the bar appeared to be drinking a beer, doing paperwork possibly? When we were ordering I wanted the Rueben and Mac and cheese , but was told they were out of both , so I asked if the ribs were available. The server said yes, so ordered them. After an hour of waiting my partner went to the bar and asked where our food was that we’d been there for an hour. No response , about 15 mins later our food arrives. Her burger had been sitting under the heat window so long the top bun was toasted and too hard to eat , the ribs… they were tough and chewy. We received no apologies or even an explanation. Eventually we had asked the waitress who claims “ oh the ribs took longer than expected” I would’ve rather have been told in the beginning that the ribs weren’t available than be made to wait an hour + for tough ribs, an overcooked burger with hard bun and soggy fried onions. It was a horrible experience .
