We actually used to visit all the time. The food was always pretty good. We enjoyed it a lot! Used to, anyway. However, the last time we went was a year ago because they overcharged us. I thought it was an innocent mistake. We didn't realize when we were there because we were never given a bill, but when we got home, we added it up and realized we were overcharged by almost $8. I called in the next day and the same person that rang me up answered the phone. When I said I thought I might have been overcharged, she instantly remembered me but brushed it off without offering a refund, future discount, apology, or any other type of resolution. Just brushed it off like "oops".The more I thought about it the more I realized it wasn't an accident and that really did not sit well with me. I didn't say anything more but someone who was with me brought it up about a month later and said it still bothered them. All in all, we just haven't had any interest in returning. It's sad because the food is enjoyable but I don't care to visit or support dishonest business. Maybe the owner has no idea what is going on and maybe the waitress was just pocketing the extra, but I don't care to be the one getting ripped off. :-(

Nestled into a strip mall near the Food Lion in tiny Amherst. Dogwood has great lunch specials, which I came to crave while staying locally. One star off for putting prosit housing Christian stuff on the back of the menu. Restaurants should be secular in my opinion. That said, an excellent lunch spot in Amherst.

Rude. Food is Mediocre. McDonald's is cheaper and taste better and you won't have to deal with a rude old grumpy man. I'm sure his life is miserable and that's why he's so rude and nasty. But we won't be back. We watched him yell at someone over parking. He may be the owner or just a hateful man who should have retired long ago and just pushing it to the limit that just works there either way we won't be visiting again for the Quality of the food and that man's straight ugliness towards people. There's to many competitors and although you guys made an impression it's not one that has me wanting to eat here again.Parking: There was plenty of parking and I watched the owner or worker yell at someone over it.

Went in today with my mom and ordered the catfish. It was the worst catfish I’ve ever eaten, I only ate 2 bites. Service was great though.

The Hunts own the Cafe and personally greeted us, and quickly served us coffee for our break. My husband enjoyed warm apple pie a la mode. I enjoyed warm lemon pound cake with delicious frosting. Thank you for a delightful visit ?

We stopped in at the Dogwood Cafe for a late lunch while traveling home on US 29. It's a local place in a shopping mall serving very good local fare. When we arrived we noticed a tastefully decorated dining room and were seated promptly. They have some lunch specials and a full menu. You'll find something you like. We ordered off the lunch menu. My wife had the chicken wrap and loved it! I had the cheesesteak. I grew up outside of Philadelphia and cheesesteak purists would be unhappy with this sandwich. I thought it was very good. The sandwich comes with steak, Swiss cheese, onions and mayonnaise. I asked for peppers and they only had jalapeños. They were a very good addition to the sandwich. This isn't a cheesesteak per se, but it's a very good steak sandwich. We'll be back when we travel US 29.

Eat here at least 2 times a week. The food is fantastic. Never have gotten any thing that was not good. Cannot beat the lunch menu.and the burgers are the best in Amherst and Madison Heights, very fresh and yummy there is no better place to eat at and the hospitality wow you feel like you are eating with family.why would you want to go to Mc.Donalds when you can go 30 seconds more and have an amazing meal.and believe me if you leave hungry, then that's on you. Carolyn the waitress is such a sweetheart just love her.and The owner Dennis Hunt,is an awesome person and can cook out of this world. Lisa and Mike Thomas
