The food at L&L was very good but not authentic. The macaroni salad was the item on the menu that was a disappointment. However, everything else on the menu was true to its nature.

So bad. I have tried l n l in other states and this is the worst. Chicken bowl is 14.95 and a portion was so small and smell of chicken was bad. It was crispy but the batter was bitter.
Waste of money!
My family and I come here often. Just today, though we already had a huge breakfast, we had a craving for their chicken bbq plate. Yes it’s that good and the portion side is generous. The staff is kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Food was horrible, I don’t know what kind of fried fish they got or fried shrimp but it’s was too fried. The rice was hard, the macaroni pasta was bland. I must have received someone’s old order they never picked up. Smh. The shrimp was like eating rocks. I wouldn’t order here again. Disappointing as I was looking forward to trying this place.

The teriyaki BBQ chicken was delicious. The wings were cooked perfectly and the spam in the Ramen was great. I will return.

Atmosphere was excellent. I loved that there were activities outdoors and ample seating. The food and the service were meh. Everything I ate lacked depth of flavor, unlike authentic Hawaiian food. I doubt I'll try this restaurant again unless I'm in Hawaii.

SO glad we finally got a location. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, just make sure you also get a side of their macaroni salad (short rib plate is the best!)

We just got back from Hawai'i where they had L&L everywhere, so when I saw there was one in Annandale I got super excited. Unfortunately this was a pretty disappointing experience. They were short-staffed so it took 40 minutes to get our lunch. We ordered the loco moco, but it was so salty we had to send it back. The garlic shrimp had no garlic on it, and when we did get a side of the garlic butter, the butter it tasted weird. My aloha saimin broth was ok... The broth was good but the noodles tasted like dirt and the egg was burnt. I had ordered a side of garlic rice, but only received plain rice. The musubi was also not prepared properly it was rolled in seaweed instead of stacked and wrapped. We said something to the staff and they were willing to comp our meal, but we at least wanted to pay for what we got. I recommend the owners have someone come from Hawai'i to show these folks how the food should be prepared.

I've been twice out of nostalgia, from visiting Hawaii and having it over there, but this place just doesn't live up to it in any way. Both times really weird service - food takes a very long time even though there's only a few tables, and they somehow mess up our orders. The 2nd time we went, a bartender from the bar served us but midway through he forgets us and the job was so half-done. The food is overall decent but oh my God it's expensive for what it is, not worth it at all. It also pains me that they don't have the fried or garlic mahi mahi.

Really great place to bring kids. Food is delicious, especially the bbq chicken!!!! Large space, good for groups. Has both an indoor and outside space. It was difficult to know if the servers would come to our table or if we should go up to order - seemed a bit of both was true.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Five Stars Plus!)
This was hands down one of the best L&L Hawaiian Barbecue experiences I’ve ever had. I ordered the short rib plate with macaroni salad and rice, plus a side of garlic rice, and the combination was absolutely unreal. The flavors were spot on — rich, savory, and perfectly balanced — every bite tasted like comfort food straight from the islands.
Even though it was takeout, the quality and freshness made it feel like I was sitting on a beach in Hawaii enjoying the meal. Portions were generous, everything was cooked to perfection, and the entire experience left me wanting more.
If you’re looking for amazing Hawaiian barbecue, this is definitely a place you need to visit — whether you dine in, grab takeout, or have it delivered. Highly recommended!

I don’t understand why their fries are so good, literally fries with salt but I love them lol.
My friend got the Hawaiian sliders and she loved them, I had fish and chips one time and the other the garlic fish. Both were delicious, the fish with the chips was perfectly crispy like tempura style and filling. The garlic fish was so flavorful and juicy.
The place is huge, open late (late night menu after a certain time, 10pm I think) they have a dj on weekends and maybe on weekday night but for sure weekends.
