We got the pork (i think) cheesy katsu. It was absolutely delicious and well worth what we paid. The side bits were also delicious and really complement the katsu itself. Really nice guy (owner?) served us--I'd definitely come back again!

The only slight downside I had was not service or food related, but the lighting in this place was really...depressing?? It was a cold office overhead light feeling, I think they'd benefit from warmer bulbs.

My boyfriend and I love this place, we’ve been coming here for years!! The shrimp & potato appetizer is our go to and you can’t forget the tasty katsu combos. We leave always feeling full but not sick lol. The owner is so sweet everytime we come, which makes this place so inviting!

It’s sad to see this place lose their customers because of AYCE businesses near by… this place has such a comfy charm that I wish more people would come and support small businesses

I recently visited Miso and tried their katsu with the soba combo, and I have to say, it was absolutely fantastic! The katsu was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy on the inside. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere of the restaurant made it a comfortable dining experience. Highly recommend this spot!

My husband and I love donkatsu, so we've been trying different restaurants around the DMV area, and this place is truly amazing. The ambiance is a bit dim, but the food is incredibly fresh and delicious. Most of all, the owner welcomed us with such positive and cheerful energy that it instantly lifted our mood. My husband, who is American, was also very satisfied. We definitely plan to visit often in the future!

But what truly sets Miso apart are the owners – they're incredibly kind and welcoming, making you feel genuinely welcome. If you're looking for delicious food and exceptional hospitality, Miso Restaurant is the place to be! Their friendliness creates a wonderful atmosphere that makes every meal enjoyable. I recently had lunch at a Korean-Japanese restaurant in Annandale specializing in Japanese ramen and meat cutlets. The lunch combo included ramen, chawanmushi, a cutlet, and side dishes such as pickled radish, kimchi, and Tonkatsu sauce. The ramen had a simple flavor, and the chawanmushi was basic without much flavor, as it was just a steamed egg. The Tonkatsu was of good quality, soft and juicy inside and crunchy outside. For dessert, they offered a complementary Yakult. Overall, there was nothing extraordinary about the food, service, and atmosphere.

i used to go to miso a lot, until they changed owners. The waiter is this young asian male with glasses, who does not bring you utensils or water. I had to get up a few times to get my own napkins, chopsticks, and forks. I asked him multiple times and he never gave them to my table. I asked for water a few times, but he did not give it to me. I tried to be as patient and kind to him but he kept ignoring my table. My nephew was patiently waiting for water but it never came until the end of our food. He was upset because our waiter did not give us any water, but simply just a cup of ice. I got frustrated so i just got up and went to my car and pour some water myself. I stopped enjoying miso ever since they only had one young asian male waiter This was my 3rd encounter with this waiter and i will never go here again.

I got the pork tender katsu. Pork was fresh and crispy. The combination of the katsu with the sauce had an interesting, satisfying taste to it, something fresh, sweet, and slightly spicy, like cinnamon or nutmeg.

The udon was good. The broth had the distinct taste of bonito flakes. The steamed egg also had a noticeable umami component.

Overall, it's a great restaurant. I'm definitely coming back to try their other options.

Dimly lit with white 5000 K LED bulbs makes for a depressing ambience.
Food is edible, but not great. Tongtaksu is okay - breaded and fried (although my mind began questioning the age and quality of the oil they fried it in). Ramen is okay, but the noodles were soft and soggy and the soup base was watery and lacking in any real substance and taste. If they had used a packaged ramen product, it would have been much better.
