Food is good (I have had better for less money) it's just expensive. They also should add more food with their lunch specials

I had a very disappointing visit to Szechuan Star. The service was slow and inattentive, and the food didn’t live up to expectations bland, lukewarm, and overpriced for the portion size.
What really made things uncomfortable was the waitress directly asking for a tip before we’d even finished our meal. It felt pushy and inappropriate, especially given the poor service. A tip should be earned, not demanded. The overall atmosphere was unwelcoming, and the place didn’t feel clean or cared for. I won’t be returning, and I’d caution others to think twice before dining here. Thank you for your attention

Local gem, food is wonderful but atmosphere is what you come here for. We haven’t felt so welcome in a restaurant in a long time. Will definitely come back.

Wow! We just discovered this amazing place, and I have to give it a solid 10/10! My husband and I decided to grab some carryout for a quick dinner, and we were thrilled with the generous portions. The seasoning was absolutely spot on! It’s hands down the best Chinese food around! We’ll definitely be recommending it and can’t wait to come back for more delicious meals!

We've been coming to this place for years: you won't find better American-style Chinese food in the area--or better prices. Everything on the menu is good, but the garlic chicken, salt-and-pepper shrimp, and Singapore-style noodles are standouts. (The Peking duck is also a steal at $25.) The owners and waitstaff are kindness and hospitality personified. Truly awesome place!

Yesterday, in the evening, we went here to come because we wanted to order food. The Chinese lady at the front look like that she didn’t want to serve us at all because of me and my parents arguing about being picky with the menu here.
My mom asked the Chinese Lady at the front about the Sweet and Sour Soup that is Vegetarian and she told us that it is made with Chicken Broth. How is it impossible to have a Vegetarian Sweet and Sour Soup that is made with chicken both? The Sweet and Sour Soup needs to be made with vegetable broth if it is listed as the vegetarian option in the menu. This is very misleading. My mom has ordered the Sweet and Sour Soup in a vegetable broth here before. However, the Chinese Lady pointed out the soup in the menu that is vegetarian. Only one vegetarian option.
For the dinner option, there should be vegetarian options like most Chinese Restaurants have. The Chinese Lady could have mention that the Sweet and Sour Soup that is listed as Vegetarian ran out of vegetable broth and that is what my mom has ordered before. She lacks customer service skills. She is very snobby and rude. It looks like that she wasn’t well trained at all for the vegetarian options in the menu because there could be some customers that are vegan or vegetarian.

I used to come to this place every couple of months for lunch, and the food was always great. Unfortunately, my visit today with coworkers was beyond disappointing. I'm not sure if the ownership has changed, but the quality has gone way down.
The service was extremely slow, and the food took forever to arrive. When it finally did, it was cold. My coworker’s chicken dish was overwhelmed with garlic, and the fried rice tasted completely different—more like a mushy, strange version of what I used to enjoy.
None of us were happy with our meals, and it felt like a complete waste of money. Sadly, I won’t be coming back.
Their Lo mein is the absolute worst I have ever eaten. Looked like leftovers, tasteless, chicken had very strange texture, practically no vegetables. I tried to add more vegetables and sesame oil, fish sauce to better the taste, nothing helped. Noodles were mushy too. Inedible! Into the garbage it went.
