First time eating here. Unfortunately, some of our food was cold when it was brought to us. They did remake it after the waitress put her whole hand on the sandwich to very it was cold, that was a bit shocking.

My husband wanted liver and onions so we headed to Granny Bees otw home from picking my daughter up from college. The food gave us the homemade, Southern feel. It was fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was that of a small town Southern feel at Christmas time. The most wonderful part of it all was how kind and attentive the waitresses were! We just felt like “home” with how they treated us. It was evident that they truly love their customers by the way the people came in and were greeted by name! I am definitely going back and would recommend Granny Bees to ANYONE that is in Appomattox, VA!

Entering here, we were taken back to another time. We were in town hoping to see the Historic End of the Civil War complex during the early days of the shutdown. The waitress asked us if we were here to see the 'Surrenderin' Grounds'. Excuse me? The 'Surrenderin' Grounds' What a unique way to describe this place. I digress, the food was good, the service was good, the menu was not modern. Hot roast beef sandwich, so good but seldom seen. Worth a stop

We decided to stop here for lunch after seeing it advertised at the museum and I’ve never been so disgusted by a restaurant. The place looked and smelled like an old person’s home that hasn’t been cleaned in years. And unfortunately the food also tasted like it was cooked by someone who doesn’t know how to cook. Truly everything about this place is unappetizing I’m shocked by the other good reviews. I got a burger lettuce wrapped and it was one tiny piece of hot lettuce like it was put in the warmer with the patties. Do NOT recommend

We were visiting the Appomattox Courthouse park and stopped in for lunch. My husband had the special Country fried steak which he said was AMAZING! I had the veggie plate and loved every bite . The stewed tomatoes were especially delicious, they tasted just like my grandma used to to make !
