Entering here, we were taken back to another time. We were in town hoping to see the Historic End of the Civil War complex during the early days of the shutdown. The waitress asked us if we were here to see the 'Surrenderin' Grounds'. Excuse me? The 'Surrenderin' Grounds' What a unique way to describe this place. I digress, the food was good, the service was good, the menu was not modern. Hot roast beef sandwich, so good but seldom seen. Worth a stop
We were visiting the Appomattox Courthouse park and stopped in for lunch. My husband had the special Country fried steak which he said was AMAZING! I had the veggie plate and loved every bite . The stewed tomatoes were especially delicious, they tasted just like my grandma used to to make !
Friendly service and good food. \nReal family restaurant and not a franchise restaurant. The menu had something for everyone at reasonable prices. We were in town forctge historical sites. So glad we stopped to eat here.
