Great experience. We booked 2 rooms last minute as we were attending an event in nearby Lynchburg. I stayed in the Rebecca Room which was roomy & comfortable. The included breakfast was amazing.

My grandmother and I stayed here for the weekend and we LOVED our stay. The room was cute and comfortable. The food was amazing and we had the best shrimp and grits we have ever eaten. They take food allergies and preferences very seriously which we appreciated. My grandmother has been bragging about how we had a chef prepare our dinner and breakfast. Our hosts were so sweet and personable.

We had a wonderful stay at The Babcock House. Our hosts were gracious and helpful. The house is lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Our room was very comfortable and the upstairs porch is a great place to take in the evening.

I will definitely recommend The Babcock House to any family or friends who are looking for accommodations in the Appomattox VA area.

My husband and I just spent two wonderful, relaxing days at the Babcock House. We were able to ride our bikes at several bike trails in Farmville and Amherst and the Babcock House was a perfect location to explore surrounding areas. Talia and Charles are gracious hosts and cooks. We loved our home-cooked breakfast each morning and French press coffee. An added bonus is the Sitronu toiletries that are all natural. Thank you for providing such a quiet, clean and relaxing inn.

Our stay here was awesome. Room was spotless and well prepped for our stay. Our hostess (Talia) was very hospitable and made us feel welcome. The food her husband cooked for breakfast was fantastic! We are already trying to plan for when we’ll be able to come back!

My wife Jaclyn and I stayed three nights here last weekend [April 27th-30th] on a much needed vacation to Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park and Lexington, Virginia. I can't say enough great things about this place. Talia and Charles are incredible hosts, personable, friendly, understanding and accepting. Their hospitality, great food, and personal interaction and care cannot be overstated. We were even squeezed in for dinner at the last moment on Sunday, which is awesome! The Byron room was extremely comfortable and pleasant. We were greatly blessed by the warmth shown us at The Babcock House, and met some pretty cool people who were also staying there too, in addition to our innkeepers. I think we gained some new friends as a result. We have every intention of returning someday hopefully in the not too distant future. May God bless The Babcock House and their amazing staff, until we meet again, in this life or in His everlasting kingdom.Rooms: The Byron Room was extremely comfortable and spacious. We are so thankful for a comfortable stay and luxurious accommodations.Nearby activities: Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park, Baine's Books and Coffee and the American Civil War Museum in Appomattox are extremely close by. Lexington is only an hour and 20 minutes away if you want to go see the tomb of Stonewall Jackson or Robert E. Lee or both.Food & drinks: The breakfast in this place will fill you up fast-it is delicious! The drinks are wonderful, and dinner is fantastic, especially the salmon.Noteworthy details: The house has a charming parlor with games and a library, I wish I had more time to browse its shelves.

Nearby activities: Close to Appomattox Courthouse National Park and Farmville/High Bridge State Park. Suggest renting electric bikes in Farmville and riding to the Bridge.

Walkability: Down the street from the small town shops.

Food & drinks: Delicious breakfast and dinner at the Inn. Wonderful service and meals were very filling.

Food & drinks: Excellent dishes, well prepared and presented. Unfortunately they are closing the restaurant to non-residents at the end of October 2023.

The room was well cleaned before we arrived. I ordered chocolate covered strawberries that were fresh and waiting for my wife upon our arrival.Food & drinks: The food by the chef, Charles, was wonderful. I attached some pics of a couple of things I ordered during my 3 day stay.
