Nothing fancy, but the burgers are tasty but not dry. A quick burger that’s very good. Located right next to an outdoor area that’s a skating rink in the winter.
I'm rating an otherwise great restaurant a 1 star for being petty by removing their combo pricing after 2p. I have meetings that regularly push my lunch past 2p and means instead of going to their place I just go to the mall.

Quality of basic is top notch from O-rings to the burgers to the salad. There’s something for everybody. Jamie the owner is very personable and if you’re new, gives great recommendations for food or drinks. Basic has the best cocktail menu in the whole square. I recommend the Chicago dog or the burger but if you can make it on the weekends the bagel sandwiches are delicious and everything is reasonably priced.

Really enjoyed the ordering process! Simple and easy. Was able to add and delete things we wanted or didn’t want on our sandwiches. We all had burgers which were delicious! One of my guests said they would’ve liked more mushrooms on their mushroom burger. I had the egg burger, which was delicious with the egg! We also had the loaded fries with egg. And the fried pickles. Awesome.
We didn’t like sitting at the tables, although they were not sticky. They had a feel that was not pleasing? So we sat at the bar facing the open windows, which were peaceful, smooth, and able to enjoy the outside atmosphere. Would recommend this spot to anybody in the local area near pentagon city. Another thing we liked is even after we ordered and paid at the ordering station. We could add drinks when we sit at the bar without having to re-ring. The bartender was friendly and very helpful! We will be back.

We visited later in the evening (~9 PM) and it was not crowded at all. The service was great even though it was later, and the food was delicious. Our family ordered fried pickle chips, fries, sweet potato fries, burgers, onion rings, grilled cheese, and a salad. The manager on duty kept stopping by to see if everything was alright, and the food came out quickly. We highly recommend stopping here.

Alexis needs a raise. Very helpful and patient. Sadly, Jamie wasn’t here tonight but he gave his contact to schedule an event. I’m excited to bring my Grandpa here when he comes so he can enjoy a great burger and even better service!
I do have a suggestion for the company’s slogan…

The service was really disappointing. I just ate there, and the waitress barely paid attention to us. At the beginning, we struggled just to order drinks—she only asked my husband what he wanted, and I had to ask if I could order something too. Toward the end, I mentioned that we had a discount on the burgers because of happy hour, and she told me we didn’t. I showed her the proof, and she reluctantly adjusted the bill. There was also a discount on the beer that she didn’t apply, but by then I had lost the energy to explain her job to her. The burgers were okay, but the service was honestly some of the worst I’ve experienced in a while.

Food is good but prices have gone up 35% in the last year. $8.69 —> $11.49 for a single patty burger, no fries or drink. Shake Shack is $9.99 for a double. Used to come here for a well-priced meal, but now it’s not worth it anymore.

Burgers are amazing, quality builds. Sweet potato fries are excellent.
There's no human interaction when ordering (which I'm personally fine with).
