The store isn't visually clean
Right down the street from the Hyatt if staying there. Has a good selection of alcohol. I made a Safeway account on my phone to save money (just entered my phone number at the self-serve cash register afterwards and it saved me some money).
Prices are double to triple that of other local stores. Store is generally dingy. "Local guides" are so ridiculous raving about the prepared buffet section because I've never seen anyone in real life getting food from there. The food always looks unfortunately old and nasty. Oh and it's full of mice haha. This one was cute so I took his picture but normally they are not so adorable.
Over Priced.
A big shout out to Mimi and all the wonderful hard working ladies over at the deli section. My experience is that they make some of the best sandwiches in the area. Thank you all for your service to the community and all you do.

They are a pretty diversely stocked Safeway for being so small.
I visited here in 2013 as a tourist while visiting DC. It seemed alright. I still have the beer bottle openers I bought. Life's essentials. I couldn't just eat pizza all week and places like this are a lifesaver for tourists.
A great store of doing shopping!
It’s an OK grocery store for what it is. It’s a typical Safeway that’s mostly under ground. There’s not much wrong with it if you regularly shop at Safeway and don’t mind buying groceries in a cave. There’s somewhat decent parking in the attached garage but you kinda have to come at it at the right angle. It may look small from the street but it is a relatively full sized store, just with an odd layout and slightly claustrophobic vibe. I don’t personally like this store very much but I can’t really think of much that’s egregiously wrong with it aside from the occasional panhandler taking advantage of the limited Entry/Exit point to bother people for money (I’m not insensitive to their plight, I just don’t think it’s an excuse to bother people).
This place smells really bad the moment you walk in.
When it comes to snacks and cakes everything is too big for one person.
For some reason the bottles of water won't scan and require staff to put them through the checkout. Why not just add them to your inventory?
Otherwise it's a reasonably well equipped store

Good service, relatively clean, but way
too expensive for what it is.
The manager locks the doors before they close at 11 PM. Doors were locked and no one could get in at 10:50. Manager saw this and still turned their back.
I would say 95% of my visits here I have to get price corrected. It's so frustrating. This has to be the worst grocery store I've ever visited when it comes to accurate price labeling. And definitely no honor system .. They always go back to check the prices, then come back to confirm it's wrong in the system. I only go here when I'm dire need of something because the food is also overpriced compared to other stores and the hot bar... Don't even get me started. Even at peak hour with lunch time, it's stale and dried out food. Definitely recommend going anywhere else but this store.
So far I like this store, my daily grocery option as I live nearby. Decent variety of goods, almost never crowded. The only thing that comes to my mind that could be improved is the restocking consistency, as I've noticed some items may be absent from the shelves for like a week, before being restocked.
Surprisingly good selection for being a compact, urban grocery store. Even more convenient because they validate parking for an hour.
