Very Good brisket
A nice surprise at the National Zoo. My husband and I enjoyed our sandwiches (pulled pork w/ coleslaw & brisket w/pickle). Delicious!
The team was friendly and attentive AND we received our food pronto.
Keep up the good work. We can see you have high standards. Thank you.
Food was fire!!! Got the brisket and Jamaican Jerk chicken, fries with one slaw with the other, KC and NC sauce and ate every last bit of it all. The zoo is free so you bet I’m gonna pay for this, delicious!
The service was good but sadly. Man oh man the food is horrible. Way to salty and no flavor the salt over took the flavor of the brisket and the fries were salty to. Coleslaw was horrible didn't taste like Coleslaw just taste like onions and cabbage. And the beans had semi flavor but not much. Sadly my friend makes it better then that. For flavor like this I wasted my money since this was pricey.
Pulled pork was simply disgusting, dry old inedible. My child could only eat the French fries from which she developed a stomach ache (Stay away from Bootheel BBQ at Smithsonian Zoo)
SOOOO FREAKING DISGUSTING!!! Sooo salty to the point you can’t eat the food! I was my money back so bad. My chest and head was hurting after eating t some of the food
Food is good but the service is awful. If you want a small business to be successful there is no reason to roll your eyes and yell at customers. If you hate what you do that badly find another job
Food was alright, albeit WAY overpriced. $22 for a BBQ sandwich that doesn't come with BBQ sauce, and cheap frozen fries. Would've been tolerable if not for the customer service that was so poor. Watched several people return because of missing items, self included. Everyone of them/us received a poor response. The extras I ordered with my meal were BBQ sauce, chicken on my queso fries, and cheese on my chili- all of which costs extra. I didn't get any of them. Was told I didn't order it because it wasn't on the ticket. They gave me the chicken when I came back up but acted like I was trying to steal something from them. The cashier told the window guy I didn't order it and walked away. I didn't even bother with the missing cheese and bbq sauce because the reaction was so off putting.
Not sure if it was a bad day for them or if this is typical but would recommend you watch for a few minutes before you order to make sure people aren't going back up to the window after getting their food.
Driver was rude. I ordered the queso nachos and he gave me a pulled pork sandwich. I later looked at the receipt and noticed it was wrong. When I asked him about it he proceeds to say “I’m not gonna argue with you” which I wasn’t trying to argue I was trying to figure out the issue. Horrible guest services! Wouldn’t recommend
Honestly pretty good for zoo food
Restaurantji Recommends
The worst coleslaw I've ever had. Who screws up coleslaw? These jokers.
Ate here on Saturday 12/14 while checking out the Zoolights. Food was very overpriced - $12 for a small container of Jambalaya. Hot chocolate was $4 and extremely watered down. Recommend looking elsewhere for food when you are at the Zoo
Went to the one at the zoo. Worst costumer service I've ever experienced. Sad, since the food is pretty decent.

Thanks again Mr. David Newton!
My husband and I were with my sister and niece at the Smithsonian National Zoo. I ordered a side of brisket with no bun. It was way over-priced, had no flavor and there were hairs found under the meat! They were rude to my husband and didn't care that I found hair in my bowl. It was really disgusting!
Not bad, staff was friendly but they obviously don’t get any breaks at the zoo food truck location. I hate zoo/museum/amusement park pricing but it is what it is.
