The worst coleslaw I've ever had. Who screws up coleslaw? These jokers.
Ate here on Saturday 12/14 while checking out the Zoolights. Food was very overpriced - $12 for a small container of Jambalaya. Hot chocolate was $4 and extremely watered down. Recommend looking elsewhere for food when you are at the Zoo
Went to the one at the zoo. Worst costumer service I've ever experienced. Sad, since the food is pretty decent.

Thanks again Mr. David Newton!
My husband and I were with my sister and niece at the Smithsonian National Zoo. I ordered a side of brisket with no bun. It was way over-priced, had no flavor and there were hairs found under the meat! They were rude to my husband and didn't care that I found hair in my bowl. It was really disgusting!
Not bad, staff was friendly but they obviously don’t get any breaks at the zoo food truck location. I hate zoo/museum/amusement park pricing but it is what it is.
Went to the zoo with my family and saw this spot and decided to give it a try. I was extremely satisfied. I saw other reviews saying the food was lacking and service was horrible, but my experience was everything but that. The service was acceptable, prices for the brisket sandwhich $18.00 was fair especially considering the portion and the flavor 5/5. The pulled pork $16.00 4.5 /5 the jambalaya $11.00 4/5 and the tenders $13.00 with fries 4/5. This place is doing BBq right and I stand by it. I would go to the zoo just to go here.
Horrible service, I could hear the employees making comments when all I wanted was a sandwhich. Sorry I spent my money here, you shouldn't.
Tourist trap
Take that 1 star as a 0. The food was mediocre and over priced. The cole-slaw was nasty. I ordered pulled chicken and French fries. The pulled chicken was dry and it did not come with any kind of sauce and of course you have to purchase that separately. Customer service was nonexistent. The women were very mean and disrespectful and had an attitude as if you owe them something. She proceeded to argue with me after I told her that my order was wrong then complains when I asked for my receipt. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY GOING THERE, it’s not worth it.
Pretty freakin good for Zoo food truck. Brisket sandwich 5/5
Tried this truck out during our trip to the zoo. We ordered the chicken tenders w/ fries. Good food and friendly customer service.

Pleasantly surprised with the brisket sandwich from the truck at the zoo. Great flavor and not a bad portion size either. Good sauces as well. I understand how other reviews knock the price, but let’s be honest about the current economy and location. Where else are you going to find great BBQ at the National Zoo?
Not a pleasant experience and food lacked taste.
Unappealing, gross, expensive. Lady didn’t even give me a tray. Rude!
We had great food for the entire family from Bootheel! The online ordering via our phone was very easy and their menu listed the allergies clearly which was big help. Kids loved the chicken tenders and we loved the pulled pork and brisket! Thanks again, you saved our rainy Friday night dinner dilemma!!
National Zoo Location: Now that I know the Jambalaya is actually $12 and not $11 as the menu reads. The food has every bit of flavor I was expecting but since “they made all sorts of errors on the menu if I read it correctly” I’ll probably not come back. Get the menu fixed or point out the price and spelling inconsistencies.
