California Pizza has some delicious pizza. We enjoyed our meal. Service was good.

The place makes good food, however, they pressure you into tipping a lot. Both in-person and when ordering a delivery online.

When I was visiting, I left a decent amount of tip. $10, there were two of us. The waiter made an angry face and left. Didn't hand me my receipt, nothing. She was standing above me while i was checking out on a handheld payment device. I had to catch her later to ask for my receipt which she provided with a very angry face.

Same applies to the online ordering. See the screenshot. They're implying that they don't pay their delivery drivers, therefore, we must subsidize it by tipping. I call this BS. They are partnered up with Uber Eats which wouldn't deliver the orders for businesses if they didn't pay back.

I don't recommend coming here. Just order online if you want their food, otherwise don 't show up. Visit the establishment next door which has more grounded personnel who doesn't beg for tips.

Pizza Kitchen in Pentago California was honestly just an okay experience The place looked clean and the staff tried to be friendly but the service felt slow during most of the visit The pizza was decent with good texture on the crust although the flavor was not as memorable as I expected for the price Drinks came out late and we had to ask twice for a couple items Nothing terrible happened but overall it did not feel like a place that really stands out compared to other pizza spots nearby

One of my favorite restaurants and locations! I come here at least once a week, and it’s always a great experience. The environment is welcoming, the staff is very friendly, customer-focused, and always appreciative.
This location never disappoints. I absolutely love this restaurant and highly recommend everyone visit at any time of the day. They are always consistent, friendly, and professional, and I always enjoy my experience here.

I ate at this location around 15 years ago when came to the DC area. I was glad to see it was still here.
After all this time, still enjoyed the pizza and the server we had was professional and personable. We had a few good laughs with the server and just felt welcomed by her and the other staff interactions.

Not sure if it was the angle of the sun, the shaded windows, or no one outside, but we couldn't tell it was open until we walked through the door. Sort of weird. Glad we did, because it was indeed open and the food, service, and atmosphere was OK.

Probably an outlier but I really had to use the restroom and they had recently cleaned it, whatever they used will burn the ever living heck outta your eyeballs.

Food taste pretty artificial. Cutting corners like most restaurants these days and the quality of the food is suffering. Tastes good but makes you feel awful later. Plus they no longer sell key lime pie, one of the main reason I have gone there over the years. Makes no sense to get rid of your best dessert item.
