The food has gone way downhill as they’ve expanded and the value isn’t what is used to be. I ordered a crispy rice bowl and it was packed with spring lettuce mix with very little toppings (overly dry chicken, scoop of black beans, 2 cherry tomatoes sliced in half, scoop of chopped plantains, a 1/4 avocado sliced pretty and small pinch of cabbage. The whole bowl is stuffed with spring lettuce mix to make it look abundant, but it’s really very little food other than lettuce, and not nearly enough dressing to cover the lettuce so it tastes like something other than… lettuce. Very meh and not worth $22.

One of the best Happy Hour deals in the area, 4-8pm everyday for $8 cocktails (recommend the Espresso Martini), and very solid food in a vibe that’s reminiscent of Miami. Recommend the Cuban & the Croquetas!

Guys, I really like your restaurant and the food is delicious, but your mojitos need some serious improvement. Why do you use fake lemon juice instead of fresh? And why don’t you muddle the mint like you should in a traditional mojito? If you make better drinks, people will come back. I hope you stick around and make better mojitos.

I have gone to this place quite a bit, today that changes. They refused to serve me 2 drinks and made up some fake law stating it was illegal. I had a coupon that had a minimum spend, so wanted to buy 2 drinks, more money for them. Instead they decided to make a fake law, keep in mind I was with a group of nearly 30 year olds and a lawyer stating that it is inaccurate. Very rude staff, and overpriced.

RESPONSE : My friend was served 2 drinks, and I was not. Enforcing laws for one and not others is ridiculous.

I have never had a bad experience at Colada Shop! I’ve also been to their locations in Crystal City and Mosaic, service and food have been impeccable at all three. The servers have all been kind and take your order with a smile. I LOVE the goat cheese croquetta salad- to die for - and my boyfriend always gets a cuban which is always great too! Their coffee is great and strong, which I like! I hate when a latte is essentially so diluted with milk you can barely taste the coffee, which has never been my experience at Colada Shop. Would eat the salad every day if I could, can’t recommend enough!

Love this place. It is tucked away around the corner from Lifetime off of Clarendon blvd. The guava pastelito is superb. Go in the morning and get it warmed up. The coffee ☕️is also delicious. In my top 3 favorite coffee shops in Arlington. They also play great music- a lot of Colombian tunes.

Went for the Colada Shop Cuban based on recent positive press - throughly enjoyed it!
Large sandwich full of pork and flavor - great bread!

Ordered a side of Yuca - very good with great crunch & taste. Only 5 pieces - would have been great to have had a few more pieces.

They have a restaurant fee of 4% that doesn’t even go to the wait staff

Feels like both a restaurant and a Cuban cafe that you can bring your laptop to work at. They have coffee, latte and cocktails that pair well with their guava and cheese or beef empanadas. Their food is also great and I’m a big fan of their blue matcha latte with oat milk

Nestled amidst the metropolitan him, Colada Shop emerges as a vibrant sanctuary of Cuban spirit and conviviality. From the moment you cross its kaleidoscopic threshold, you’re met with a contagious energy that feels equal parts Havana and home. It’s not just a place to eat or drink—it’s an experience, one that charms the senses and soothes the soul.
The service is, without hyperbole, immaculate. Staff members greet you with a sincere exuberance that transcends the perfunctory. Attentive without being overbearing, they navigate the floor with the kind of unfeigned friendliness that makes every guest feel like a regular. Whether you’re sipping solo or surrounded by friends, their warmth renders the atmosphere both inclusive and intoxicating.
And speaking of intoxicating…THE DRINKS. Divine doesn’t begin to cover it. Each cocktail is a masterclass in mixology: bold, balanced, and unapologetically fun. Even the non-alcoholic offerings defy expectation, bursting with tropical vivacity and crafted with the same meticulous attention to detail. Every sip is a sonnet to summer, regardless of the season.
Colada Shop is more than just a restaurant, it’s a celebration. A celebration of culture, of flavor, and of community.
