Compass Coffee – Weekend Go-To Spot ☕

Compass Coffee at Ballston is my weekend ritual—either before or after church. No matter how many customers are inside, the service is always fast and friendly. These folks know how to move with a smile.

Now let me tell you—the Cherry Blossom Latte (hot, with oat milk)? Best latte in the area, hands down. Smooth, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweet. I’ve brought plenty of family and friends here, and it’s become the go-to spot for a latte fix. If you haven’t been yet, treat yourself.

Ordered a medium iced vanilla late and a cinnamon roll and let me say they did not disappoint ☕️🥐👌🏼💯 would highly recommend!

The customer service was amazing. I sat down to work and accidentally spilled my drink. The cleaned it up right away and made me another drink for free. It was also delicious. Highly recommend!

Everybody in my circle knows that I do not mind to drive miles for a good cappuccino. Compass Coffee is the only place never disappoints. I get my “waypoints” on a weekly basis. My next reward is coming up soon!

Chai latte is not good, doesn't even taste like chai, the cup was barely full. The buns on the sandwich are rough to bite into. The batista weren't helpful. I thought this would be a nice spot to grab a quick breakfast, it was not worth $13 of my hard earned money

Compass Coffee is my favorite café in Ballston to get work done, grab a coffee on the go, and catch up with friends! The café atmosphere is clean, inviting, and always has great music on. The management and staff are incredibly welcoming. chandler, Annie, Peter, & Christian are experts at creating delicious lattes, and they truly have made my day multiple times by just being kind and having friendly conversations😊

This is such a fantastic neighborhood coffee shop! I tend to switch up my order often, but no matter what I choose, it’s always delicious. The service is top-notch at the Ballston location. Chandler, the manager, does an amazing job getting to know the customers and regulars—it really adds a personal touch that makes you feel welcome every time. I've also had the pleasure of meeting other wonderful staff members like Annie and Peter, who are just as awesome. Overall, this place truly feels like a gem in the community. And let's not forget the fire playlists, especially on Fridays—such a vibe!

Only rating for this location, usually am a huge fan of Compass coffee and this one's closest to me so I've visited couple of times and they seem to never get my order right - the flavor is off. I always get the vanilla sweet cream cold brew, and this is the only location where the sweet cream cold brew is off. It is bitter and not sweet! Also, sometimes there seems to be no cream because how much I stir it the cold brew doesn't get lighter in color.

Staff are friendly and the place is clean so I will give it another star but they really need to standardize their coffee taste.

Glad there is another location down the street!

My husband and I were in the US this year to pursue our studies and we just wanted to thank everyone who worked at compass (wilson blvrd) for serving us coffee almost everyday for an entire year. Everyone was super friendly and made our coffees exactly how we wanted. Now that’s we’re leaving, I can definitely say that Compass Coffee is one of the places that I will definitely miss the most. Thanks again to everyone there! We’ll definitely come back in the near future!

I have been coming to this place since it opened several years back. Sadly, I have to update my review to reflect the recent downgrade in quality. While I used to love their lattes, especially the almond butter latter, it is clear they have sacrificed the quality of their syrups. There is a bitterness to nearly every single one, and it does not taste like they used to with fresh, real ingredients. I remember when they kept the almond butter in the fridges, presumably to keep freshness. Now, all the syrups remind me a bit of cough syrup, have a very different, runnier consistency, and are kept on the counters in the giant dispensers. Reminds me of your local Starbucks. Compass- please improve your quality!

Good location, but terrible menu experience. They changed the way they show the menu and no longer show you all the options, just they seasonal specials - and they do not have a print showing you what the basic options are either. The only solution the baristas are left with from management is to tell people to download the app or go online in order to see the full breadth of what they offer.

Caused me a lot of stress when trying to order for a group, when I was on the phone and had a hard time both talking to them on the phone and simultaneously using my phone to see the menu.

Bottom line - know what you want before you get there, and make sure you entire group does as well.

Very disappointed, even though the people are nice and coffee is good.

NEVER order hot chocolate in this place!
They put like 3 kinds of syrup and milk. What a waste
