Service is not similar to other compass cafes, poor customer service inside. Drive thru is good.
Compass coffee is my favorite coffee in the DMV. I crave it, especially their mochas! However, this location loses stars for the layout and consistency of stars. Three consecutive visits I was given a hot cocoa instead of a mocha…so annoying. The drive thru is insanely slow, and the parking lot is really tiny. If there are at least five cars in the drive thru queue you can’t even get into the lot. Depending on who’s working, you may have to set yourself on fire to get acknowledged when you walk inside, as the staff seems to be hyper focused on mobile orders. I’ll still be a loyal customer, so hopefully the consistency and quality of service continues to improve.
Hello,
I came today at 5:15 AM. Google shows that you open at 5:00 AM, but when I arrived it was still closed. Just letting you know.
Had the best lemon loaf and cortado. Friendly atmosphere in the early morning.

Love this location! Great coffee everytime, best customer service. Just be wary—Google will say they are open til 7, but I arrived at 6:25 and it’s closed. Hopefully that can be fixed! Sad if it’s the case, I used to love coming after work.

The service in this cafe is awful especially compared to other Compass cafes. The manager Calleigh is incredibly rude and not personable at all. I've been here a few times and she always gives me a dirty look when I'm ordering. In general the vibe here is so off especially compared to the Ballston or Clarendon cafes, where there is a friendly, chill vibe where workers are chatting to customers or with each other, but in this cafe workers are just are so serious and stressed. If Calleigh could learn basic manners and friendliness this place would be on the same level as the other Compass cafes.

I visited this location on the whim after a doctor appt. They were limited in what they had available for a chai latte but I decided to give it a chance. It didnt taste like the usual Chai lattes that I get from. Starbucks, PJs, or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I wasn't satisfied but glad it was only a small. The staff was professional and courteous.

I had a bit of a coffee spill accidente at Compass today—completely my fault. I managed to spill my entire iced coffee all over the table and the floor. Total mess. I felt embarrassed, but the team could not have been more kind or generous.
Julian was incredibly gracious and immediately jumped in to help clean everything up. He was calm, professional, and genuinely friendly. Not only that, but they offered to remake my drink—no hesitation, no blame—just pure hospitality. The manager was also super cool about the whole thing and made me feel like it was no big deal (even though it felt like a big deal to me!).
The coffee? Absolutely delicious. But it’s the people who made the experience memorable. For that kind of thoughtful, human service, Compass Coffee more than earns its five stars. Thank you again to Julian and the whole team—you turned a clumsy moment into a reminder of why kindness matters.

Great coffee shop and especially using the best product and their coffee drinks are very tasty. Highly recommended for coffee lovers and beyond.
This is my new favorite place to grab a coffee. Love their politics and the vibe. And the coffee is delicious too!! 😀

If you're looking to enjoy your coffee inside the store, this might not be the best spot. The location seems heavily focused on drive-thru service -- I waited quite a while without being acknowledged, even though I was standing right at the counter. The two employees were busy handling drive-thru orders and didn’t seem to notice me. In the end, I had to place a mobile order just to get my drink.

Terrible service. Borderline rude. Took forever and food wasn’t warmed.
