I don't know why there are so many recent terrible reviews for this place, and why everyone is saying it's over priced. The food is absolutely amazing, especially the chicken, and I feel like it has pretty average prices?? Especially in this economy? The one thing is that the wait time is a little higher than average, but in my opinion the food is worth it. Definitely get the orange sauce with your meal it is amazing. Also I dont know why a lot of reviews are complaining about the service, the workers are very kind and efficient.

They’re scamming. The lady charged me for 3 extra sauces without my permission and each sauce is $1.50. I didn’t say anything because I didn’t want to make a fuss over $4.50, plus I figured the extra sauce would be nice. But when I got back to my car they only gave me one sauce. I went back and showed them the receipt and they quickly gave me the 3 extra sauces and apologized, but it didn’t feel like a mistake. Definitely felt like they were scamming. $21 bucks for a chicken sandwich with a slice of chicken that’s paper thin was also disappointing.

This is very overpriced for what you get. They are very stingy with their portions and lackluster in their execution. I will never go back. One meal at about 13 bucks was one chicken thigh, 4 bite-sized slices of plantain, and a tiny salad. Another time, I ordered an aloha sandwich that was also about 13 bucks, and the American cheese was still solid and not melty at all with a thin layer of their chicken with no skin, and it was quite plain.
I wish I could get my money back.

I've been coming here since early 90's. Great food. Now that I've moved back to MN I still go there every time I come back to visit and I have my friends ship it to me.

Amazing Place , delicious chicken its the closest thing to a Peruvian chicken and the costumer service is excellent. Isabell and William are extremely passionate, respectful and friendly

They serve customers old chicken as the other reviews also show. The gentlemen behind the counter are also comfortable enough to call customers homophobic slurs in Spanish when they think they won’t understand 🤷♂️ bad food + bad service = no reason to go here

As other reviews say, this place is a hit or miss when it comes to food's freshness and taste, however, what is constant, is the TERRIBLE service and the overpriced food! I agree with all the other reviews that describe how awful the lady at the cashier is, rude and aggressive even, I should have called the police to report the incident I experienced, but I just left the place feeling sorry for her and her miserable soul. I ordered two quarters of chicken as usual to pick up but went I arrived to pick up the order, that lady told me they run out of chicken and that she could only sell me one quarter instead of two. I said I had called to place the order in advance and that I was not informed of that when I ordered. I added that I had a long commute to the restaurant and that I would have appreciated a call between the time I ordered and my arrival to safe myself the drive or to plan something else for dinner. I am a counselor by profession, so I am always calm, and polite. Her reaction was to my comment was to start screaming at me and also screamed at the poor man who works preparing the food, who previously was nice to me but this day he was also furious and between them two kept screaming at each other in front of all of the clients. They clearly were not having a good day. Sad to read here, it was not the only bad day for them where they display this bad attitude to clients who supported that business for a long time. The lady was so uncontrollably angry that she even threw the bag of my half order against the wall (aggressive behavior) and yelled at me that it was up to her to sell me the half order or for me to leave the place empty handed, that she had the right to sell my half order to anyone else if she wished. She was violent in her tone, her words, and her actions! It was already disappointing to buy such small/tiny yet costly side orders, but with this incident, even if the food was free, I would not buy there because of the UNACCEPTABLE aggressive lady's behavior. Avoid yourself the undeserving mistreatment and go to "el pollo rico", "super pollo", or "tasty chicken box", instead, all in Arlington, VA.

Restaurantji Recommends
This is a really good Take out Peruvian chicken restaurant. I have gotten chicken from here many times and people I have shared it with have loved it too. The service is no frills but professional, the food is great and while the restaurant itself doesn’t have a whole lot of seating space, it’s a take out counter anyway so that doesn’t really matter. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.
Parking: There’s some parking up in front of the shopping center but way more in the lot out back. There’s also plenty of street parking near by
Wheelchair accessibility: Im not entirely sure but considering the position of the entrance and narrowness of the restaurant it is unlikely.

The chicken is good, but everything is overpriced. The sides are cheap quality wise but overpriced, 49 percent is potatoes, and the other 49 percent is rice. If the price point was better, it would be way better
After so many years I cannot find a better chicken anywhere in this region and I've traveled the world. I travel 45 miles 1 way to get to this place from central virginia. I do this once a month or once every 2 months and it's always worth it. I've tried the other local peruvian and other places/restaurants in the entire DMV region. They say these sauces are the same as the other crisp and juicy chicken locations and I don't know if I can honestly say that's true because I've tried it and I don't agree with that, they were very good, but not like this place....... When I first started with crisp and juicy about 30 years ago, it was in Rockville and I loved the place ever since but when I came across this place because of my work in Virginia, I stuck with this place. Maybe because the owner and the cook are the same people for decades...... You will always have a faithful customer with me. Thank you.

I love their food. My cousins used to take us here, every time we came out to visit. This was back in 1999 lol. So, now whenever we're in Arlington we stop and get food from there.
