I love coming here! Detour has really good coffee and food options and I especially enjoy their exceptional selection of coffee and tea beverages. The curly blond haired fellow behind the bar was really sweet and kindly explained some of the menu items and the overall business to me and my friend. Great place to hangout and study as well, many people during the day with laptops as the setting is quiet and there’s lots of seating.

I LOVE Detour Coffee! Their food and drinks are both excellent. As wonderful as Northside Social is down the street, the food at Detour is much better, so I choose to visit whenever I'm in the neighborhood. They have a great vibe inside with lots of seating and outlets, as well as a great outdoor seating area for the warmer months. The staff is also incredibly kind!
On top of their wonderful food and drinks, Detour stays open until 2am during Ramadan and offers Suhoor specials. I am not Muslim nor do I celebrate Ramadan, but I do celebrate the season of Detour being open until 2am! Finally, Detour is Palestinian-owned and often hosts events to benefit Palestine. This cause is close to my heart, and I love to support a local Palestinian-owned business!
As a note for the owners, I only have one suggestion for improvement: It can be difficult to figure out when certain food is being served, specifically the sandwiches on the board above the counter. I would love if you could post on the website what time each menu is served! I would also love if I could order sandwiches at dinner time. I often come to Detour to work in the evenings after work, and the sandwiches are so delicious that I'm often sad when I am told to order from a different menu!

It is SO hard to find places to study that stay open as late as Detour. As a grad student with a full-time job, I really value places that I can go to study in the evening, have a meal, and a nice cup of coffee/wine without feeling unwelcome. Their breakfast is also really good and the staff are always friendly. Please don’t ever change, Detour!! 💚

Among the best places in the region. The name of the place doesn't do it justice because it's way more than just a coffee shop; it's also a great restaurant. The Falafel Smash Burger and seasoned fries were to die for. Just the right kind of moist, excellent texture, savory glazed bread. I hear the massive hunk of baklava is delicious so I'll get that next time. Not to mention the upbeat progressive vibes and genuinely friendly stuff.

Wandered into this place because I needed some caffeine and was so pleasantly surprised! Beautiful space, great ambiance, and super friendly service. My strawberry matcha was perfect — you could tell the matcha was high quality and the strawberry puree was homemade. Perfectly balanced! They have a ton of intriguing food on their menu that I can’t wait to come back and try!

Love this coffee shop, the food and drinks are top notch and the staff is great. BUT the wait time to order can be quite long when you have one person taking the register orders and making all the drinks. I know times are hard so staffing two people for this role is not ideal. But I might suggest getting a register system that will allow customers to submit their order on their own that way the barista can focus on everything else. Just a thought. I saw two customers leave the line while I was waiting in line which is a shame.
They present themselves as a coffee shop and automatically charge a 20% tip, even for to-go orders. The food isn’t tasty, I won’t be coming back

Long over due. 1 year ago on December 13th I met my future girlfriend here. We have been together ever since. We came back on January 3rd 2026 to celebrate and recreate our first date. They treated us so well. Latte and pastry was on them even though I offered to pay. They made our night special. We will be back for our 2nd anniversary no doubt about it! Thank you for all you did 🙏

Shakshuka was flavorful and the homemade pita was warm and tasty. It’s big enough to split between two. Hot drip coffee includes refills, and the iced latte was delicious. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the counter and listen for your name to be called for drinks, food is brought directly to your table. Parking is available but very limited.
