I’ve been eating here since I was 8 and every time I return to DC this is my first stop. No other chicken place compares. I dream about the dark meat + white sauce + Inca cola combo and would gladly have it for my last meal on earth. Beyond grateful for this epic institution ?

I have been patronizing this restaurant for more then 20yrs the service is fast and consistent every time.The chicken ? and fries ? are always hot and fresh. I purchased a whole and fries for $23.00. They have other sides, drinks and dessert.

I’ve been eating here since middle school and the food only gets better as far as flavor. The one issue I have is those baby sides that come with a Full Chicken - listen the size portion is a no and with rice being a very low cost item/product you should at least give more. I ordered 4 whole chickens which come with 2 sides however again the size and portion amount is not even enough to share with 4 people if the chicken is cut into for. Come on make it make sense. You wanna be the Boss you gotta pay the Price!!!And the ordering system is tad whacky - y’all already know people love the food don’t will always be massive crowds. Figure it out - a better ordering system. Other than that we good.
The staff here are super friendly and move very quickly, parking is limited if they’re super busy. Just to keep note, it isn’t cheaper to order a la carte chicken, as you have to order your food with two sides (same price if you don’t get sides)Half chicken with 2 sides ran me about $20 which included a $2 tip. The chicken is on the crispier side and being very honest I’ve had better in the northern va area. I did really like the Yucca here as it was cooked perfectly!Parking: There’s a parking lot outside of the place that can probably hold about 25-30 cars just by eyeballing it

El Pollo Rico has been an Arlington go-to for 10+ years easy. I used to swing by for a quick lunch pre-pandemic and finally made it back after being in the area one weeknight. Guess what...It's still still top notch. Fresh, tasty, moist chicken and nicely seasoned crunchy skin. The beans and rice are an excellent side and their steak fries are fried nicely and filling. One note...the folks working there are all good people...aside from the tasty meal, our car wouldn't start after dinner so I had to hang around for 3 hours waiting on a tow truck. Went inside and everyone was very nice and allowed me to sit inside and even use their charger to charge my cell. Thanks to the entire staff for a great meal and your kindness!
