Great food! Small, hidden gem off Columbia Pike. Almost couldn’t find it. My sons first time trying Ethiopian. He had the awaza tibs and I had vegetarian combo, but plenty to share! The lentils had some spice, loved them. Great, spongy injera. We will return!

Greens & Teff closed, so I tried Bethel Cafe for lunch. I had the vegetarian combo which was tasty, filling, and I asked them to prepare it mild without chili's or spicy sauce. The red Misir Wot stew was a bit spicy for my taste, but the other two wot stews were mild, and if you ask they can substitute out the spicy wot for a mild wot. The carrots and potatoes, cabbage, and collard greens, were tasty. Good food. Easy to order online, though there is a $1.50 service charge if you do that, but the overall value was reasonable. Friendly staff.

Very nice place, very authentic and popular with the local Ethiopian community.I complimented the owner on the misir wot, and when she saw that I finished my plate she freely gave me some more. I can't imagine any other place like it.Vegetarian options: Veggie combo is amazing, which means that basically it's all good

If you follow me, you'll know I'm a huge fan of Ethiopian food. Bethel Cafe does not disappoint! I think the thing I love the most is that they're only a little over a mile from my daughter's apartment. I like how every place I go to has a different take on the classic dishes. Bethel has both gomen (collards) and shiro (chick peas) dishes with meat in them, which I don't often see.I got the sense they mostly do takeout. Seating is quite limited, but the interior is bright and comfortable. They close a bit early (7pm), so don't dither while deciding to go here. My daughter and I had dinner in the restaurant and I got takeout to take home to my partner. It traveled extremely well and was just as good the next day. I recommend Bethel Cafe and expect I'll be back soon!Kid-friendliness: Since you eat with your fingers, I always think Ethiopian is one of the best kid foods. If you're kids don't like spicy food, make sure to let them know. The guys we had was on the mild end of the spectrum, but it still has peppers in it. It's the kind of place that feels run by a family where they'd be happy to other kids roaming around. ☺️Wheelchair accessibility: No steps. Lots of room to navigate around the tables. Regular height tables. I did not go to the bathroom.
