The ambiance was alright in the main area - but there are several secluded areas that seem like they don't get used much. Seating here is certainly private... The food was not well executed (medium duck came out rare with the fat completely unrendered. The “exotic mushrooms” were button mushrooms. The breaded Brie still had its quite pungent rind on. Just easily avoidable issues. Decent wines though. This place should either be way better food or way cheaper. It is wildly outclassed by nearby offerings at a similar price point. Likely not going to get another visit.

Dined on August 13, 2023. Best bowl of French Onion soup. With the first sip of broth I was in heaven. Think Anton Ego tasting the dish in Ratatouille. Fillet Mignon and everything else was perfect. Wonderful dining on the terrace with the fountain for ambiance.

With a dinning establishment with a name like Grand Cru you have established yourself as a high bar as Grand Cru wines are the pinnacle of quality and prestige within the wine world. Grand Cru in Arlington clearly makes the effort to be at the pinnacle of quality. When eating French I am always looking for fish on the menu as French know fish. I ordered the oven roasted honey balsamic steelhead trout with garlic roasted vegetables medley. It was perfectly prepared as I expected. The vegetables were equally prepared. With my meal I chose my wine from the by the glass menu which had numerous selections. I chose a classic Côtes du Rhône from the Domaine A. Berthet Rayne. For desert I had an encore glass. All in all Grand Cru is worth the visit if you crave classic French. My server was Erick and he was excellent. Attentive and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my evening at the Grand Cru.

My husband and I have not been to Grand Cru in years, but it used to be one of our favorite local spots. It’s now back on the list and we are already planning to come back to try a couple of other things. The service was friendly and efficient. We did not feel rushed, but our dishes arrived so perfectly timed. We had pauses between courses that were the perfect “pause”. Our server, Tuya, was wonderful and welcoming. We shared the shrimp and chick peas appetizer and the Brussels sprouts salad. Both were excellent, the sprouts were not over charred, I think they might have blanched them. The sauce on the shrimp dish was delicious. Hubby got the steak frites; though the steak was the correct temp (med-rare), it was chewy. The fries were fantastic! I got the scallops with risotto and brown butter. It was so delicious and decadent. Creamy risotto and perfectly cooked scallops.I highly recommend Grand Cru.

This is probably the best 'by the glass' list I've ever seen in terms of quality and value.

Went for a bourbon tasting and dinner. First off, this place seems casual and homey. The staff is super friendly and warm and made me feel so welcome. The space for the tasting was a decent size though there are lots of tables which are close - not to the point where it's uncomfortable to get in and out of. The dinner was good. Did it wow? No, but it was really about the tasting. The bourbon is where the event shined. I loved the welcome cocktail, the explanations of bourbon in general, and explanations of the specific ones. We also got a glass of red wine because, why not? The other attendees were friendly and it was just an all around fun event. I'd definitely come back for another event or just to try more things.

Food took too long to get out and the waiter hardly ever came by to check or acknowledged that we'd been waiting for so long. Onion soup was cool and tasted watered down. Trout would be better if they separate the trout from either scalloped potatoes or potatoes au gratin instead of one on top of the other. Everything is overpriced and not worth the price you pay.

The Brie was great but the rest isf the food was not up to par. It wasn't bad but our fish was a little overdone and the chocolate lava cake was dry. The wine flights were good as was the port.

Can’t imagine anyone would not enjoy the atmosphere, food, service, and wine/ beverages. My wife and I had a fantastic meal and evening: She enjoyed a reasonably priced wine flight while I had a “ Perfect Manhattan”. We split a cheese board appetizer and the roasted chicken breast entree. We finished the evening with our own desserts and perfectly brewed coffee and port. The total bill was three times less than what we have spent for much lessers meals and experiences.

French Onion soup was okay. Steak Frites was not good. Wine was average. Service was very slow and the restaurant was empty and cold. Would not recommend.

Have made many OpenTable reservations and this is my first review because of the impression it made. Great food, convenient location, great service. Good for any occasion, night out with friends, hosting family in town, date night, even just having a nice meal at the bar. Will definitely be back. Recommend the beef Wellington tarts, scallops, and duck breast

Romantic French dining in a neighborhood. Loved the escargot, duck confit, truffled deviled eggs and scallops! Great wine pairing. Top notch service!

I chose this as my birthday dinner spot while visiting family outside of DC. It was between Christmas and New Years, so the place was slow patron wise, but the service and food were great. They had a great selection of wine and cocktail options and the wine, even the bottles were reasonably priced. I had the duck that was great and the hubby's steak was pretty good too. Would def go back again.
