Stopped by Grille District at DCA for a quick breakfast. The menu and place looked appealing and it was busy, so expectations were decent. I waited patiently at the “Please wait to be seated” sign until a staff member finally came over and stared at me blankly. I asked for a table for one.
Service went downhill from there.
I ordered the avocado toast — $15 — and what arrived was hands down the saddest avocado toast of my life. A thin smear of avocado on dry bread, poorly seasoned (actually oversalted), topped with only one sunny-side-up egg that was barely cooked. Yes, I understand airport pricing — but this was borderline insulting.
To make matters worse, about five seconds after I put my fork down, the check was dropped on my table with a sarcastic “take your time.” No “How was everything?”, no courtesy, nothing. Message received: eat fast and leave.
DCA is a beautiful little airport with genuinely good food options. I try a different spot every time I’m here - this one was a miss in every way.
Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

So i was at the Reagan Airport location around 7:45 waited at the entrance as the sign requested to be seated the associate at the register was on the phone with her back turned and the waitress was talking as well with a customer with her back to the entrance, after waiting for 15 minutes the bartender looks to me and says you can sit wherever. So i go to a table and the guy with the dreads tells me i cant sit at the table i was at and said i had to sit at an open top table like i knew what that was so i told him whats a open top table he says i will show you sat me down and said you must be having a rude day cause your rude i told him why would i have an attitude just a little upset that everyone is talking and not assisting a waiting customer. He refused to serve me and told the bartender the entire story while i watched smh.
Once paying i tipped well for the food and the caucasian guy assume he's the manager came for me to check out and i out the thumbs down on my rating and he snatched the machine before i could finish
Overall food good service not so good.

The staff are pretty rude: the use tall chairs for regular tables. Which makes eating pretty uncomfortable.

Worst breakfast ever. Waiters are unprofessional.
Food was really good and fresh. Certainly was not expecting how good it was! Some of the best food I’ve ever had in an airport.

We had a later flight out of DCA and arrived at the airport just at dinner time. We decided to try the Grille District since it was located adjacent to our departure gate.
The space is decent size, but not as large as some of the other sit-down restaurants in the airport. It was somewhat crowded as well. But we did not have a long wait to be seated. Our server was quite efficient and took our orders fairly quickly. We did not have a very long wait before our meal was brought out. Our server did a great job of keeping our drinks refilled.
We had the Thai Salmon which was just a touch over cooked, but still was quite enjoyable and also the Market Salad with grilled chicken which was very fresh, quite large and very filling. Prices for the meals were higher than what you would pay at a restaurant that wasn't located inside the airport, but were not exceptionally higher.
All in all, it was an enjoyable meal and was significantly better than what we usually find at an airport restaurant. We would recommend the Grille District for anyone that needs to grab a bite to eat while at DCA.

No breakfast food for vegans. Their avocado toast comes with eggs so I ordered it without eggs. The stale bread was barely toasted and the avocado toast only has salt and pepper on it. I couldn't finish it. Although tea is on the menu, they didn't have any and don't offer non-dairy creamer for coffee so I had water.
My server was very polite.
Although she told the manager about my, concerns and recommendations, they didn't visit my table to try to make amends.
