First time having Ube anything, one of the best doughnuts I’ve ever had.

I’ve been to all of Gwenie’s Pastries locations in Rockville and Frederick, but I was thrilled when this Arlington spot opened—it’s the closest to me here in DC! I’ve already visited more times than the others because it’s so convenient, and it never disappoints.

Their donuts are amazing—soft, pillowy, and full of flavor. I’ve tried the ube, Nutella, pistachio, and mango, and each one was delicious. The fresh cream is perfect too—light, smooth, and not overly sweet. I’ve also had the pan de cocoa and Spanish bread, which were equally tasty.

The biggest surprise was the mocha cake—so moist and flavorful that I can’t believe I waited this long to try it. Definitely a new favorite!

If you’re in Arlington, especially near Costco, this is a must-stop spot—it’s right across the street. Their lattes are fantastic too (the Biscoff latte is dangerously good!).

Bravo to Gwenie’s for opening a location so close to home. I’ll be a regular for sure! The bonus is also having Lapu Lapu across the counter so I could try their amazing sandwiches.

Best bakery ever!! Everything I’ve had here is just amazing. They have the best doughnuts!! I literally dream about them. The ube latte is also really good, not too sweet. Make sure to grab some ube crinkles to go as well. Can’t wait to try more of their items! Staff are also welcoming, helpful, and friendly!!

If you’re interested in trying something new the Ube latte and pandan donuts are a must try. The donut filling is absolutely decadent but so light and delicate.

The spam sandwich is absolutely delicious. I was missing a very good one from when I visited the Philippines and this is a close second! Also got the calamansi butterfly pea tea and it’s the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Staff were very welcoming and patient. Will definitely be going back.

Ok. Everyone calm down. Gwenie’s is open and it’s the best thing ever. I tried their Ube latte and there was Halaya in it for the perfect Ube taste. The donuts were fluffy and the filling was wonderfully balanced.
Highly recommend checking them out. I’ll be back to try everything!

I had their Ube cream matcha latte as well and the Ube was frothy and tasty, I really enjoyed it with my Pandan donut. I am entirely obsessed with Gwenie’s baked goods. I usually spot their desserts in other Filipino markets but I’m super happy that they’re right here.

I decided to do a quick stop today after my Costco run. At Gwenie’s I ordered, ube cake slice, ube cheese pandesal, sapin-sapin, a bag of pandesal and calamansi refresher.
So far Ive eaten the sapin-sapin, ube cake and the ube cheese pandesal. I loved it. The ube cake was moist and perfect sweetness. The Sapin-sapin is also on point. Right amount of sweetness and chewy texture with of the rice cake is perfect. I just wish it had more toasted coconut on top. my mom and i split the ube cheese pandesal into half. And ate it that quick. The calamansi refresher is perfect to quench my thirst.
I laso bought a corned beef sandwich at Lapu-Lapu’s. They literally share the same space. I was not disappointed. Though I must say $15 for a sandwich is a pretty pricey but its ok becoz the serving is quite big and plus nothing in DMV is cheap and you’re getting a yummy sandwich. Not your typical ones.
All in all I loved this little quaint haven of Filipino goodness.

I wish them success!!!!
