Wow this place is really good. Everything was solid from the appetizers, to the meats, and even the ice cream. Would definitely come back again.

I went here because of a review saying there are a lot of gluten free options, and it was wrong. None of their sauces and marinades are gluten free, and aside from the meats they have like 3 pieces of sushi you can order. If you like plain grilled meat that you can dip in sesame oil and soy sauce this place is great. But if you’re looking for actual gluten free options, go to gyu-kaku instead. All of their sauces and marinades are gf, and everything on their menu is marked for food allergies.

This was our second time eating at Gyu San and we've had a great experience both times. The option are great. We did two different pre sets for a party of four and it was a perfect amount of food. Everyone got their favorites - to include beef tongue - and got to try something that may not have otherwise tried. In addition we had grilled edamame - absolutely the best edamame in the area.

Our server was awesome! Leo! True pro. His hostess said she had our 8:30 reservation but forgot us.No biggie as the food was amazeballs!! My first Korean/Japanese beef cook-your-own experience and it was a blast!!! Getting the for-2 meal was the right choice. The tongue wasn’t my favorite but every other meat was astounding. My favorite was the pork belly. Yum!!! Will be doing this again!

My coworkers and I have been frequent patrons of this cozy, delightful restaurant at lunchtime for the fantastic food and comfortable atmosphere. The staff have always been attentive, accommodating, and patient with us whether we've walked in with eight hungry people or just a pair dashing out for a quick bite. The menu offers a variety of Japanese dishes and flavors and the grills are well designed for the tables to not take up too much space or be inconvenient to use.The price at first glance seems high, but the quality of the food is well worth it.

Hostess lady was very polite, and our server, McCarthy, was great. (Hope I spelled his name correctly.) He was very quick to greet our table, provide water, and take our drink order. He recommended great appetizers and was super knowledgeable about the menu items, including the portion of each dish. I ordered a Salt and Smoke; it was flavorful but too sweet, so I couldn't finish it. The meat was fresh and great. Everything was perfect until the manager came when I needed to redeem the gift card on my phone. She approached our table without any friendliness and told me, 'Can I have your phone? (To redeem the gift card)' I gave her my phone, she tapped on the screen, let the server handle the rest, and walked away. It's very sad when the staff is so well-trained, and the manager is just not up to a manager's standard, not sure what she been thru last night, but not okay.

Came here later on a Wednesday night to get a quick drink and a bite to go. They were about to close and I refused to order, I'm in the industry and I know how it goes. My bartender (Dough) refused to let me not order, my man. Got some soup (delicious). Been here before and it was great, but not here for the delicious grill experience. The service is always awesome, ended up getting a bottle of nigori sake, after chatting with Dough. Super knowledgeable and happy to be here. We talked about Japanese whiskey and everything else. I can't wait to come back and try their stupid cheap lunch menu. Hidden gem in Clarendon.

A very good Japanese place that offers sushi and a grill to cook your own meats. It's a fixed price of $84 for 2 people and goes higher. Even though the address says 4300 Wilson It's actually located on Glebe rd. It's definitely worth a try. Go ahead and give it a go.Vegetarian options: Other than sushi rolls and vegetable fried rice, miso soup, not much in choices.Parking: You can park at the mall and walk for about 7 minutes.
