We visited Heidelberg as a potential vendor for our wedding cake. We made an appointment and despite a busy Saturday morning, Susie guided us through the tasting, flavor and design options, and other details with humor and transparency. Heidelberg uses a pound cake for their wedding cakes, something a little different that we really liked. Susie made us feel welcomed and taken care of throughout the ordering process - no more vendor visits necessary! We can't wait to sink our teeth into this cake in a few months!

From the moment I placed a call and spoke to the young lady on the phone to ask if they had any cakes available, to the pickup of the same-day cakes n the store when our daughter went to get cakes for her Dad and our grandson, the service was top-tier! The young lady even held them aside and personalized both. She was extremely helpful! My daughter even tried their bagels with the homemade cream cheese and said we will definitely shop at Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe again and again. What I love most about this bakery is he imports the flower from Germany. And their recipes are not lightened with sugar. They are baked and created based on all European standards.

Heidelberg is by far the best pastry shop in the entire area, no question. Their cake is so moist and flavorful and the frosting is soft and delicious. All the cupcakes, cookies, and especially the pastries we've tried have all been superb. The strudels are the best we've ever had, by far!

Their bread selection is excellent and every bread that we've tried has been better than any bread place in the entire area including DC.

They also have fantastic breakfast sandwiches and other deli items. They have a bunch of wurst and other meats, plus a pretty nice selection of hard to find German grocery items.

Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe is loved by our entire family and all our friends. We go here for anytime we need a special cake or pastries. Every custom order we've done has been perfect and on time you can't go wrong, this place is amazing!

An authentic German bakery offering a wide range of baked goods, confections, and delicatessen. Staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. I have been proud to patronize this establishment for many years. Only downside is a challenging parking lot.

I ordered a cake for our musical theatre production as a first-time customer, and I just want to express my appreciation. The cast absolutely loved the cake it was both beautiful and delicious. By far the BEST BAKERY ever!!! When I'm in the area this is always a must stop!!! Reminds me of the years we lived in Heidelberg. Such a must stop and try it all😊 it's all excellent!!!!
