Visited Himalayan Wild Yak on opening day and had a fantastic experience! The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food was full of authentic Nepali flavors. Everything was fresh and delicious—highly recommend!

A much needed gem for the otherwise middling Ballston food scene, Himalayan Wild Yak blew me away during my first dinner here! The menu offers an excellent variety of Nepalese dishes, with the Sukuti Sadheko appetizer and Yak Korma entree as my current favorites. I had a wonderful meal with excellent service, even amidst the rush of opening day. This is a must try for anyone in the area!

I came here for the grand opening and was absolutely blown away. We were lucky to get bar seating. We had a couple appetizers, the yak korma, and yak momos. All were very delicious. All the staff members were efficient and friendly. Special shout out to Asruk (might've misspelled that) the host/front of house for his wonderful hospitality and attention to detail. We'll definitely be back.
My husband and I came on opening night, and WOW what a delicious meal we had! The restaurant was very busy, yet the service was excellent. The yak korma was one of the best entrees I have had in a while. Excited to visit again soon!

Grand opening day! My family got there right when they opened at 3pm because it was my birthday and you can’t beat 50% off amazing food. The family that owns this one also owns the Ashburn location which my family has been to before and enjoyed. Service was a bit rough because the staff were still figuring out the systems, but I’m sure that comes with time.
I have dietary restrictions when it comes to red meat from cows, pork, and gluten but there were many options here that tasted amazing and did not cause any issues! The Yak Momo, butter chicken, Tandoori chicken, and cauliflower appetizer I would all recommend to others and I will be back!
Dietary restrictions: Dietary restriction friendly! Especially for my specific issues mentioned in review.

A very nice Nepalese restaurant. Opening night food was good, service was friendly and pleasant, but a bit chaotic as the staff struggled to deal with a full house and a long line out the door. Atmosphere is generic nice restaurant, but nothing special. All in all it was a good meal. I would be happy to return if a friend wanted to eat here (except for the parking).
A note about parking: there are a few metered spaces on Glebe Rd, but those are "No Parking" 4-7pm Monday thru Friday. The curbside spaces on Wakefield St around the building are all reserved; parking in any of them will get you rapidly and expensively towed by Advanced Towing. Parking in the building garage will cost you $13 and the restaurant does not validate parking. After 5pm the building lobby is closed so returning to the garage requires a walk down the ramp on the rear side of the building.

Here for the grand opening. Had Yak Korma, Butter Chicken, Chatpate, and Garlic Naan. Food was delicious, and though they were packed and doing brisk business, service was attentive and nice. 5/5 stars, would yak again.
