One of my favorite place, I love tacos
Good spot for tasty tacos. They have a large selection of meats to choose from and will top them however you want - reminiscent of Chipotle, just less hectic and with more flavor. Definitely top your tacos with their salsas, they're fresh and spicy and make me happy. Also, keep your eye out for the Mexican donuts, bunuelos, they're inexpensive and come in lots of different flavors. There is not a lot of English spoken in here, the folks are really friendly though and at least pretend not to mind when I have to point at things because I don't know how to ask for them in Spanish. The only negative comment I have is that parking is often problematic. The lot is small and services several other businesses.
This place has thr best authentic Mexican tacos in Arlington. This is coming from someone who loved in Mexico for 10 years.
I really wanted tacos one time. I went, got carry out, and decided it was worthy to some extent. Though I had decided that this restaurant was deserving of a second visit, I was weary. I was cautious because this place just seems so dirty, messy, and poorly managed. The last time I went, I ordered tacos se lengua and al Pastor. There were employees that were just hanging out. I couldn't tell wether they were customers or employees. They seemed more interested in eating and having conversations than taking my money. The tacos de lengua were tolerable. The al Pastor was not delicious as it is famous for, and usually should be. Though many hole-in-the wall establishments aren't too pretty or impeccable, this one somehow managed to sit far below even the most humble of eateries. I am Latina, Central American-American. I have had AMAZING Tacos at some modest eating establishments. By no means am I a snob. This place just isn't that great. The only reason why I get anything from here is because it is super close to home. This place is a gross joke. They don't even have an accurate menu online, nor a phone number. Wack!
TLDR: La Jarochita #2 is not as good as the one in Manassas - but still good regardless. Cheap and yummy tacos. We ordered the following: - Al Pastor (Pork) - Asada (Broiled Beef) - Chorizo (Mexican Sausage) - Barbacoa (Special Boiled Beef) - Carnitas (Fried Pork Chunks) - Cabeza (beef head) - Lengua (Beef Tongue) What I'd get again - any/all of the ones mentioned above. My absolute favorites have been the cabeza, lengua, and al pastor!
This place is placed in a small strip mall next to a Chinese takeout place but PLEASEEEE don't let it fool you. I'm from Queens, NY and there are a lot of taco places in Queens. I've had my fair share of mexican food and this is by far the most delicious I've had. For those who don't understand Spanish the staff speaks little English but are super helpful and nice. I made friends with the cook my first time there. I had the al pastor, carnitas, and asada tacos and LET ME TELL YOU. MY MIND WAS BLOWN. My mom had a steak burrito and it was so fkn tasty y'all Im sorry but this place is so worth it. Literally $2.50 for a taco which is such a good price.
As a Mexican who is in love with Mexican food, and have cooked Mexican food all his life. I found this place disgusting, the burrito that I ordered was microwaved. Much of the food that they where putting out was being microwaved. My wife and I ended paying too much for a burrito and 4 tacos ($50) which overpaying for even excellent street food.
Great food, good prices
Too small and Dirty place , rude personal with “I dont care” actitude, the cooks without mesh hair , touching money and food at the same . Also This is not a Family friendly place .
I was so excited to find a well reviewed, authentic looking Mexican spot. Finding good Mexican food in the DC area can be so tough.... I suggest that you keep on looking. There was nothing other than meat options(pork, chicken, beef). Usually Taqueria's also have shrimp or fish, but not here. They told me they were out of chips and brought avocado slices instead of guacamole. The waitress then kindly took the food back and brought out fresh chips and guac, which were good. However, we were done with the rest of our food and about to leave.
Great marketplace for micheladas and tacos' ingredients :)
Amazing authentic food! A local's favorite! Don't miss the Grocery store adjacent to this gem! Spanish speaking folks are very welcome! Bon appetite
I always get tacos and they are soooo good!!! Service is fast and professional! You can't beat the prices either, can't believe how cheap it is!!
Pastor tacos were great.
The best tacos and tortas around Arlington real Mexican tacos and food I recommend all the food except the cóctel de camarones they usé frozen shrimp
Been driving past this place for so long and finally took the chance and went in. Let me tell you about these tacos. These are some banging a** tacos. And they are freshly made due to your preference. I loved them
Really good food and authentic Mexican style recipe
This place is tucked back in a strip mall near a car wash. Very casual with a steady clientele of non English speaking locals. Service is friendly and fast- counter style ordering. My friend got the carne asada and pastor tacos. His tacos were cheap and I will get them next time! The meat was incredible and flavor deep; the two tasted very different. Both contained well-seasoned meat. The fixings bar was there to add even more to the flavor. But I have to take off a half star (in theory) because there was no pineapple. This is a five star experience except tacos al pastor have pineapple!!!! If they had pineapple I would probably eat here once a week! I ordered the pastor torta because I've even carrying around a photo of it of for years; I'd been wanting to try it. My torta was heavy and huge. I only ate half and the other half made a great lunch the next day. The meat was spicy the peppers sweet. There were different textures going on between the lettuce, tomatoes, and raw onion. There was cheese too. It had a lot of liquid so it wasn't dry but there was no way to eat it without making a mess. A delicious mess!!! It looked like the picture but had no black beans as described in the picture. Putting this place in my permanent rotation.
I am new to the area so it was great to finally find some actual Mexican food! I tried the tacos dorados and they were good! Will be returning. The only reason why i docked them a star was because the Mexican glass bottles soda was a bit flat. Really strange since I have never encounter that before. However, other than that small issue all was good.
Good Latino food. Support small business
The best doggone tacos EVER! My friend told me about them and I was skeptical.. I'm a taco lover.. Like seriously till death do us part lol
I am a Texas native. I am a Tex-Mex snob; basically, I would say I know what authentic Mexican food tastes like. I was apprehensive to try this place because of this past experience but all I can say is WOW. Jarochita #2 is the exact definition of a "hole in the wall" place but it has some of the best quality of food I have had. The steak burritos are incredible!
I have always came here for the cakes and the food but the last time I came I ordered a cake and it was old. It smelled like old milk and it tasted bitter. I went to the restaurant and asked if I could get a refund or at least get a replacement cake and they refused. They were very rude and not at all apologetic to giving me an old cheese smelling cake. I will no long recommend this place to any of my friends!
Really good tacos especially love the carnitas.
Love the tacos, the tacos of lengua are great!
Self serve salsa, well cooked meats and broad selection. Also well priced and great service. Def come here for authentic, high value food.
Ordered my favorite chicken burrito BUT I finished it so fast that I want more:( lovely service and employees are very tentative. I will continue to come to this restaurant when craving tacos and burritos. The only downside is that parking is horrible and I recommend taking orders to go or having a good place to park near by!
Small parking lot, outlet center has two pupuserias and a Chinese spot that were both busy. Environment- impatient cashier took our order. Small kitchen with one cook. Several people sitting at high top tables. Workers lacked communication. Even with language barrier(i can speak Spanish but because I'm black(dominican)they assume so i left it to englishâ€) Chicken burrito- chicken, rice, lettuce, white onions & cilantro, pretty tasty. Not enough salt(don't even like too much salt on food honestly). Put together well, didn't fall apart. Chicken Taco- $2.50 for 1 of any taco. The tortilla fell apart, possibly from steam of meat. Filled with cilantro and onion. Plate came with radishes, lime & onion slices. Steak Taco- steak bits were very tasty but just that, crunch tony steak pieces. Not sure if it was leftover from a long day or the norm. Salsa bar had plenty of options. 3 sauces, limes, onions, cilantro, jalapeí±o, radishes & cabbage mix. Would return and get steak taco
So great!! I love the Manassas location so I was really excited to try the Arlington one. Did not disappoint. The guacamole salsa is divine. Got tripe, al pastor and lengua (tongue) tacos. The tripe was smoky and crispy, the al pastor was everything you want out of al pastor, and the lengua was tender and juicy. The tortillas were toasty and delicious. Horchata was a little overly sweet but yummy as well. Good selection of other menu items (burritos, huaraches, sopes, and soups) but I think tacos are really what you should come here for! It's a cute hole in the wall joint and prices were super reasonable (2.50-3 per taco). Will definitely return - and often!
La Jarochita offers a good menu of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, sandwiches, and Mexican main dishes plus various Mexican soft drinks and beers. Very simple place with a do-it-yourself toppings bar. Attached to grocery story with products from Latin America. It also has a breakfast menu.
Both the restaurant and the store are great for authentic Mexican food.
This place is a hidden gem. Very authentic and super tasty. You won't be disappointed!
I ordered chicken tacos with no onions. They came out with onions. I asked for some without onion. She gladly made some more. New ones still had onions. Her response: the pico de gayo has onions... a warning would be nice?! Her attitude basically said to F off. A charge back is in order.
Reasonable prices and large portions make this an excellent choice!
I am Writing this review without even trying the food here, there is no freakin way you can get your questions answered in this place. I called ahead and tried to order takeout for myself and my friend and I asked for two simple things that was on their yelp page with pictures, my friend wanted a Chile relleno, ( I understand I'm not Mexican and I may not pronounce it correctly, but come on how terrible i could say it?) the lady on the phone did not understand me, then she started speaking Spanish with someone else, then she came back and said they only have tortillas and tacos. I insisted and said you guys have this on your yelp page and we would like to try it.... she left the phone again without saying anything and got someone else on the phone, I had the same conversation all over again with this new lady.... and we got no where! I gave up and said; ok let me order some burritos than, but I want to make sure I'm getting something I can eat, so I asked another simple question! Wether if their beans have pork in it, she got off the phone again had a conversation with someone on side in Spanish she came back and said she did not understand, she got the First Person I spoke to back on the phone and same shit all over again top of starvation now I got frustrated and angry I gave up and ordered from somewhere else. Thanks for nothing!
This Mexican restaurant is one of my favorites to go to, I am from Nicaragua, making me Nicaraguense, the food is similar to my birth place reminding me about all the good foods! Everything I have ever had to Nicaragua has been here! It also has foods from El Salavador, another place I traveled and ate similar food! The hygiene here is also Amazing, I feel a lot more comfortable here as there are a lot of choices on food and drinks I really recommend you to come to Jarochita their Chicken Nuggets with Fries are good too if you have younger ones, or maybe a Cheeseburger and fries for your pre-teen! 😊😌
I had the chilaquiles rojos con carne de res. They are amazing.
Authentic Latin food and friendly service.
