Saw in Nothern VA magazine. A Modo Mio website drew us in to visit. Great daily and happy hour deals. Wine list was all Italian wines, which I’m not so familiar with so was great to try out! Ordered a white and a tomato-based pizza. Both were amazing. The crust is perfect to my taste — light not heavy or bland dough, soft but had that nice subtle chewy texture and you could smell and taste the smokiness from the authentic Italian wood-fired brick oven (which apparently was custom-made in Italy just for them). Toppings and cheese are perfectly balanced. They offer red pepper flakes and Parmesan on the side. Great if you love a little kick and layered saltiness! The side house salad had arugula, romaine and spinach with plenty of tomatoes and cucumber. The dressing was lemon-based and sweet and vinegary without being too heavy or acidic. Added a dash of Parmesan just because lol. We also ordered a tiramisu….. just heavenly. Bartenders were attentive, super friendly without being in your business, made perfect suggestions and each dish arrived quickly. Nice-sized parking lot and outdoor patio. Great date night spot or place to go with family or catch up with friends any time of day. Can’t believe this place has been here since 1978 and I only just discovered it! Highly recommend!!

This place has won top 50 pizza restaurant, 4 years in a row, in an international contest. They are the only pizza Restaurant in the DMV to ever win. That being said we came for pizza and stayed for a happy hour that needs to be seen to be believed. (Check the picture) Also Mondays are 1/2 price wine bottles. The pizzas were Magnifico! From the perfect wood fired crust with a chewy crispness to the finest and freshest ingredients. You won’t find these ingredients in any local joint and the combinations are straight out of Italy. The same family has been running this place since 1978 and they seem to update the decor on a regular basis as it is a very fresh take on Italian restaurants.

The dining room is what you expect from an old-school Italian restaurant in America, while the bar is modern and energetic. The food is more Italian than American :)

One of the best pizzas I had in America, consistent with the award. Enjoyed the margherita. Suggest the frittatine to start.
The braised beef ravioli are tasty - if you are looking for an alternative.

Pricey for pizza and location, but if there are many specials 1/2 off during the week.

Truly the closest thing I can get to a religious experience. My opinion on what pizza is has forever changed. They have really set the bar high.

Nice cozy pizzeria. The food was good, even though I ordered focaccia bread and they brought me a pizza crust. Spaghetti and pizza were very good. The service was borderline unfriendly, minimal interaction with the waiter who almost didn't speak to us. I mentioned to him that we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday and he whispered 'happy birthday' but then at another table they celebrated a girl's birthday with a candle and 2 waiters singing to her so we wondered why we didn't get the same treatment. When we left no one said goodbye to us. The experience left a bitter taste in our mouth and no desire to go back. You have to have some people skills and love for your work when you work with people, serving good food isn't enough.

Nice place, seemed authentic with nice ads and good pizza. A few things to note -- service was sort of impersonal, with no one saying goodbye. Un po' fredda. We mentioned it was a birthday party -- no effort to bring anything or do anything special. We were seated next to a crowded table despite several other tables being nearby. Three of our party were Italian; no attempt to note this, speak Italian, or acknowledge -- is this restaurant run by Italians or not? No effort to accommodate kids. The food was good and authentic, but like so many places in the US it is a bit senz'anima. Up your game if you want a higher level of clientele. Otherwise, it's just a room with food. A decent room with decent food, but that's all.
